For about the zillionth time - the guy wasn't even plugged in. Rotten was the Pistols and the one that the public over here feared (and the media still does in many ways to a lesser degree). Of all the famous incidents that kick started to punk wave in the UK Sid wasn't even involved with most of them.
The Pistols created a revolution - a real social one - in this country. The type of which I don't see another band ever doing. However, musically they aren't my faveorite punk band even if I do really like many of their songs.
I am an old punk fan most..I like modern punk too but there is something about 70's and early 80's punk that just sets my body on fire.Comment

I know a lot of people that surrounded the pistols at the time due to my husband having worked for their publicity team at the time (he is a lot older than me) and to a man each one of them will point out just how little he had to do with the actual band. Sid was a junkie, yes he has become an iconic junkie but sometime listen to Rotten talk about him. He cared a great deal about him.Comment

Sid was not in the original lineup of the bad. The lineup that went on tour a couple or so years ago reunited the original lineup. If you're even remotely a Pistols fan and have never seen "The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle" it's worth a trip to amazon.com to pick up
