We have a small one..I'm talking about the thousands who died fighting the Germans and charley in WW1 and WW2..Blows my mind how many died

Most of them were killed by the English and Americans when they were first storming the beaches taking it back from the germans.

I served with the 325 from '80-'92 when I was medically discharged.

My grandad served in Burma with my Nana....thats where they met...on the otherside my other Grandad defended England by training pilots in the Harvard aircraft...and i...welll...I am the first born Canadian...

91 to 95. Back then they were still forward detached in Vicenza, Italy.

I was named after my great grandad John who was shot in the leg in France during WW1 ...he survived because the socks that my Nan knitted him took with the bullet into the wound...he was a sniper...they would put him in a culvert type thing ...they would tell him that the German officer would be third from the left ...then they would spin the culvert on the top of the trench.. he would shoot and take out the command....he drank long after war but he got the medals...big deal...war suks donkey nuts...but it happens...so torn...more beer...

Canada has a strong and proud millitary tradition. 1-0 for Canada in wars with the United States. Canada has never lost or retreated from any war, police action or otherwise.

The Canadian millitary is now mostly a joke. We don't really need one so much, since we have a giant pool of meat shields directly to our South.

Well I was in and out of the hospital having surgeries performed from '91-'92...from injuries during the Gulf War...and when I wasn't in the hospital I was for the most part on convalescent leave. They decided not to allow me to stay on active duty in '92...much to my regret. I have since been declared by the VA to be 100% disabled.
