thaigays.com - that reminds me that I've wanted to get rid of easygays.com for quite some time now. Anyone wanting to take the domain off my hands?

taboo, you're a pretty smart guy, but one thing I never
understood about you... why do you strive to bring in more
competitors into the game?..

you tell these guys about various domain sales, you tell them
where to buy, you show them the resource sites, and you get
them fired up to bid against you in the drop auctions.

you're creating competitors, you're raising the bids.. why?

with the exception of maybe 5-10 people, no one on this
forum is(was) into domains really, so by posting you're generating
interest which will later conflict with your interests.

i could see some purpose in you making these posts on DNF,
but GFY..

i'm not sure how long you've been in the game for, but ever
since i got in, one rule was always exercised. if you want
to keep doing well, keep your eyes open and your mouth
shut.

good luck,
luc l.

I go after lots of cheap gems. LOTS of domains for under $30. only rarely do I go after high profile domains. As I've said before, I'm here to network and have found some great partners and contacts at GFY - i.e. - found a few designers/programmers who are trading their knowledge & services for mine. One of my mottos is: Share a little... learn a lot.

We're tracking recent domain sales and plenty of people are interested. If you're not into it, I understand. The 1st thread (which died when gfy had the db update) had 1,100 posts with 16,000 page views in less than 3 months time.

Plenty of quality domains (mainstream & adult) are sold or expired/dropped daily.

In fact, I picked up GothSex.com yesterday, and because of GFY, I have lots of sponsors & content provider contacts to research. A few of them emailed me when they read about it in this domain thread not from my "SPAM ME w/ GOTH" thread I created right after I bought it. So this thread is definitely worth my time.

you want relevance?

I see from your sig you're with/from/own/promoting gaypornkings.com, right?

Some GFYers recently scored great expired domains like AssFucks.com & ThaiGays.com for very affordable prices, so you never know what domains are being picked up by your counterparts/competitors.

There are plenty of gfy-ers who are successful in the domain industry as well as the adult industry. This thread is more relevant and worthy than you can understand from just passing through. If you don't care, don't have the time, or already have mastered the domain game, then congrats... just remember to skip this thread in the future. However, if you're interested in learning more, check out the links in the first post of this thread. :)

They changed the format. There is no longer a link through the "My Club Drop List" page.

You have to manually select Auctions from the left hand menu, or just use this bookmark:

http://www.enom.com/auctions/Auctions.asp

Enom has also changed the way the auctions list looks. I was confused at first, until I realized I can now sort by auction type (pub/prv), auction date, or auction name. Good improvements, IMHO.

There is also a new column in the auction lists for "Buy-now price" although I am not sure how this will be utilized. Will be interesting to see what this will be for. :)

Auction results from Enom on 11/14/04:

EQUILIBRE.COM $1,000 (private)
POTHOLDERS.COM $1,700 (public)

Nice to see a spanish domain go for 4 figures. I have a few spanish domains myself that I'm hoping will be worth a bit in the future. :)

As for PotHolders.com, this previously closed at $2,300 in private auction 2 weeks ago, looks like it defaulted.

I was shocked to see EQUILIBRE go so high, but it's still a great price. It didn't jump that high until last few seconds.

elsewhere...

I was curious how much AdultReviews.com was selling for and when I saw the price at Afternic, my jaw dropped. :)

Minimum Offer $138,900.00
Asking Price $182,900.00

wow.

Sausage 11-14-2004 05:18 PM

I have a whole heap of domains I am either sitting on or are future projects. But one I have had listed at SEDO has had 2 parties contact me this week seeking my asking price.

Domain is infestations.info

Taboo, how the hell do you guys even work out what a domain is worth? Should you give the buyer a price or ask for an offer from them ?

Not sure I want to let this one go, but I am getting interest so no hurt in asking.

many strategies to use...

wait for an offer if you don't need to sell it.

or take the time to contact potential suitors.

do a little research...

use tools like these to determine (guesstimate) how many searches are done for your term:
http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/su...ons&country=us

how many other domains use similar term:
http://domainsurfer.com/ssearch.cgi?dom=infestation

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...=Google+Search
639,000 results... nice.

if you have time, visit links and contact people to see if they'd be interested in making a bid or to be included in private auction, etc.

if you check out the sales archive at www.dnjournal.com, you'll see what other .infos have sold for.

good luck.

Wow .. good advice.
And I am impressed how much some .info's are selling for. Given that I don't have the time to mess with contacting people etc, i might just wait for a good offer. I am expecting a few offers from people who contacted me, so I might let it go for low 4's or even high 3 figures. I might even get it appraised.

Also noticed infection.com went for almost $30,000.
