				 | you got people there with you - try being in a big place all alone. i ordered an extra $1000 in security alarm sensors that will be installed tomorrow cause i get wicked creaped out all alone in this big place and i don't want to end up blowing skufty's head off with my shotgun the next time i hear something go bump in the night... already pumped the thing once late at night thinking it might be someone in the house trying to scare them - turned out it was just the wind.

				 | One of the down sides to living in a big house are noises and the feeling that someone could be hiding and you won't know it right away. Best thing is to have guard dogs inside and outside your property. Down side to the dogs is when they start barking at 3 AM you wake up instantly and run for your shotgun like a paranoid fuck. Best thing is lock your bedroom door. Have one dog inside the bedroom with you, one outside the door and then one or two on duty patrolling your fenced and secured yard during the night. For an intruder to get by all three without being detected is virtually impossible at that point.

				 | Dogs are the best to have for a larger house. They know every scent and creak in the place better than you ever will, plus they know every routine in the house. My dog was barking at the steps downstairs one night and wouldnt stop.... turned out I had a hot water heater drop its bottom out and water was pouring all the over the place without her barking I'd slept for hours not knowing this. Dogs are also excellent with kids and amusing to have around the office. |

				 | It's just settling, you big baby When you want noises, try living out in the woods with a tin roof. Between the acorns falling, the roof popping in the sun after a hard rain, the squirrels running across the roof in the middle of the night, the coyotes, owls and cicadas making noises, and the wind blowing branches onto the house, it's amazing I can hear myself think |
