Now all we have to hope is his replacement is not a bible thumping zealot like he was.

I know I'm the guy that said Bush won, get over it.

BUT!!! It would really be hard to be worse than Asshat and still have the balls to refer to the Constitution and Bill of Rights as American documents.

Kerry's values message didn't disappear entirely. It morphed into his religious message, which emerged around the same time. "Scripture teaches us it's not enough, my brother, to say that you have faith when there are no deeds. Faith without works is dead," he told the A.M.E. Church convention in July after he picked John Edwards as his running mate. Kerry's attack on Bush was that his professions of faith weren't matched by any "works" to help the poor and sick, or heal racial division. "I am running for president because it's time to turn the words into deeds and faith into action," he said.
While Kerry dropped the word "values," he returned frequently to the Book of James? theme of faith without works. He talked about it at the NAACP convention, at the Congressional Black Caucus convention, and at Baptist churches on Sundays throughout the final weeks of the election. In other words, he confined his most religious message to African-American groups. At the same time, Kerry was reluctant to express anything about his own faith other than his assertion that he used to be an altar boy. His faith seemed either impersonal or absent to most of his regular audiences.

Yep, Kerry would have been much different.

On a serious note, there is strong pressure for "W" to swing the other way on civil rights even though he has all this new found capatal!!

Haven't heard a peep out of him since the election on us bad porn people. Maybe he'll pass on us for the oil in Alaska!

A new Attorney General means new management and all those "seminars" on attacking us would have to be redone. In other words, I think it slows 'em down a bit. I hope anyway.

Not much on reading the scriptures, I did that when I was younger. No doubt Kerry would be different. From the perspective of one in the porn biz the hope is Kerry would have been easier. Make that as long as the polls didn't strongly turn aginst us.

The election and why Bush won is a bit of a complex thing to talk about. We all have our opinions. I suspect that the fact that Kerry was a Senator and acted like one had something to do with it (not a real leader) as a Govenor would be (that is in very gross terms of course).

Kerry did profess to be a Catholic and with that comes a certain set of values one would assume. With his support of the womans right of choice, he didn't exactly gain the support of the Catholic church.

These two facts prolly swayed some votes.

The quote shows Senator Kerry preaching the Bible to people, which he used to further his agenda.
Do you honestly believe he would be somehow more lax? It's funny when President Bush uses scripture everyone is calling him the 'God Squad' , use a quote of Senator Kerry, being more Holy than thou, well it's OK, because he would be more laid back to the business?

two faces, of the same coin if you ask me.

Yep they have spoken. And they are divided more today than ever..

The people have spoken, and spoken more than ever, reflecting how divided as a nation we are.

Look for Bush to try to swing more to the Middle. Moves to appear to please and Unite rather than divide the nation.

The moves arent to shift things more to the right and divide our nation even more, but I believe they are to bring things more to the middle and try to unite the nation again..

I dont think he is going to unite us by any means, but I do believe the second term will focus more on this administration moving more to the middle rather than more to the right as so many here fear..

I guess we will have to wait and see. But things seem on the surface to be moving in the proper superficial direction.

Bush has said on many many occasions that he plans to be a "uniter" and not a "divider".. I think these are some of the superficial moves in doing so. Or at least appearing to do so.

                        Perception is everything.

Hope you are right man! His history in Washington does not refect that mindset though. Hopefully he will get back to some of the values he had while in Texas I guess.

Im not not holding my breath, but that would be refreshing.

Just remember, now he has ZERO political reason to swing toward the middle.

                          Hoping you are right!

Seems some people still had something to say about it and a lot read it.

Just because it's been on the board before does not assume it's finished. Most people flit in and out of here, unlike the many who live here.
