So, his wife is not letting PLO officials come to visit him in France. The word on the street is that the Arafats may have embezzled millions from the PLO and split to France to spend it.

I doubt he'd jack all the $$ to spend it all in his final days in Paris... I mean, why do that, when you can give it to the sheep(Palestianians I mean) and have them make bomb vests to kill Israelis, in order to get 72 virgins!! Woohoo, sounds like a hoot of a deal to me!

I think it's the opposite. I think after he dies the suicide bombings will increase when a true advocate of suicide bombers assumes power.

There is also the flip side of the coin. Why are there any suicide bombers?

Clearly that's what people do if they have some grievance and do not have sophisticated weaponary to deter others. ie when they don't have Apache helecopters and are provided with 7 billion dollars worth of arms each year - as is the case with Israel and the US. They use *any* tools they have.

Both Israel and Palestine leadership are too fucking stupid. This crap has been going on for decades and each "side" has loads of blood on their hands.

Chances are, there is a very slim possibility if Arafat does depart, Sharon may have little excuse left not to negotiate with the Palestinian Prime Minister and keep his side of the peace deal. But Sharon is another sick asshole, - so who knows?
