Pourin in Vegas.

Its coming down pretty hard here. I was entering the 215 and hydroplanted pretty sick. I was fishtailing back and fourth but kept control. Anyone from Vegas think we will have some flash floods?

If it rains for more than 10 minutes here we get flash floods, but yeah it has been coming down steady, supposed to be all tomorrow too. We might see a nice blanket of snow on the mountains in the morning if it cools a little

It was off an on all day today. I was on Flamingo and there was almost 3 accidents. Last year there were a ton of floods and one person died i think.

I really hope it doesn't fucking flood, just what I need is to be sitting in traffic all day.

Guys. I must agree. The rain is good for a little but too much is a bitch. Vegas is already crowded enuff with traffic. I was driving down pecos droppin my brother off at work. Some dumbass girl driver hit the pedestrian walk light. Her car was smashed as was the pole. traffic and a big you to the mother fucking taxis!

Heh, I remember the flash flood in 1999 when the Hard Rock was flooding, seriously thought it was time to build the ark.

Did you decide where you're headed yet?

The only two places on my list at the moment if I leave Vegas are Australia or Hawaii

Care to post at least one graphic "sex in the rain" type experience.

Thanks in anticipation of your cooperation

I live here and I'm leaving. this place grows so fast its nuts. Traffic is terrible. Just tired of this place in general. I do like the desert and mountains though, but dont care for the city.

You should have bought property here 18 months ago, you would have doubled your investment by now.

Where are you moving? We aren't going to move into Vegas directly but more like a suburb of Vegas.

We want to be somewhere more liberated than the Bible Belt, but it also has to be very family friendly. We have two school age children, and I demand to have them in good schools. We also thought about Phoenix.

I live in Summerlin. My kid goes to Merryhill Academy. Costs $8800 a year for kindergarten. Its a real good school.

I plan on moving to Dallas. I'm from there and after living here for almost 2 years, I decided I like Dallas better.

Of course, if you are the type that likes strippers, clubs, parties and casinos, more traffic than the roads can handle, and totaly stupid real estate prices, you may like it here just fine.

I bought my house in feb 03 for $273k and current value is now just over $515k

traffic here is a bitch. Drivers are fucking crazy as well. I plan on leaving here after I finish college. I mean it's fun here in all but isnt my type of place to be living.

Well if family friendly is your number one priority I wouldn't recommend Vegas. The air is often really bad for allergies and it is too hot or too cold to do anything outdoors for 10 months of the year.

Like MrPheer said if you are into the the club life etc it is fun but who wants to party or gamble 24/7? Its great for a few days visit here but living here it gets old real soon whether you are in your 20's or older.

Vegas is an artificial city whose only industry is legally robbing people. That whole vibe seems to extend into everything. It has a very transient nature and most people you or your kids meet will probably not be here in 2 years.

I am not real sure why everyone keeps moving here. Housing prices were low but they are probably still low in Barstow or some other cowpoke town but I wouldn't move there. Business climate/taxes are good here too but that doesn't outweigh the disadvantages for me.

Working in a Casino or Casino support Industry(as many people seem to want to do) sucks as your schedule will change constantly unless you can get into management and this weird work schedule will mess with your health and family life.

In eight years it has grown on me only a tiny bit, probably just because I am used to it and I plan on moving soon.

And to those born and raised here and/or love it then that is cool, but it ain't for me. It's great if you can be happy where you are but I always have itchy feet.
