they are very versatile the w6 subs can be run 3ohm or 6 ohm.. when you run 3 oh (bridge the conections together) and you have 2 subs..as long as you have a decent amplifier.. you will bridge mono to 1 and 1/2 ohms.. the amp sees that as .75 per side.. keeping the amp stable.. there are very few amplifiers that are stable at 1/2 ohm.. they over heat and shut down.. JL has this worked out.
As for the mid range of base.. they work in a .675 Cubic foot enclosure... allowing for a much punchier bass.. of course you can make them give you ghetto bass if you port and tune your box to between 50 - 70 cycles.. with the small enclosure you will be at about 100 cycles .. nice mid base

How does that work with the harddrive and all? Someone i knew once installed their computer in their car. I thought that was a bit overkill. But i think i heard that it's possible now to install a harddrive to your deck..like an add-on or something. But if that's case, how would the wifi hook up and where? I'm a total newb when it's come to car audio, but i'm curious how this would work. That would be cool to send the car mp3's while it's parked.

Also, Eclipse head units can not be reinstalled if stolen. You need a CD key. Any real thief knows this. Besides if it is stolen eclipse sends you a new one. Me and my friend figured out a way to get it out without powering it down and thus keeping it unlocked. But it takes awhile and is very tricky.

The thief also knows the key is probably in your cd wallet sitting on the floor and will steal those, and try every one until it works lol

seriously tho i've had eclipse and I don't think you can find a better deck.

I go for amps and speakers, be sure they're shock proof. to avoid the sounds from jumping.

Nicky 11-09-2004 08:47 AM

Go with Alpine head unit and than rockford fosgate amp,sub and speakers......
