...around the world immediately went up when the President was re-elected and are climbing. I knew that the market in the US went up big time...but was unaware that world wide the markets went up. I am very much looking forward to my statements this month...but I have been doing well in the market all along...except for one bad month.

The financial "talking heads" state that it is not important...because the US Stock Market is up...the GDP is up...job growth is up...and interest rates are low. In fact they seem to think that a weakened dollar is a good thing for the US. I am not an economist myself.

cause prices on gas are gonna hit $5 a gallon, theres gonna be an increase in security across the nations airports, landmarks, ports, etc..., and we're gonna go kill some more people in some more foreign countries so we need new tanks and hummers

For exporters who represent only 10% of the US economy, yes.

If the dollar is not seen as a reliable currency, foreigners will no longer finance the trade and budget deficits. That is NOT good for the US.

The USD will continue to drop most likely, I'm very very sad about that. But it IS good for the US economy right now because their export is booming. The problem just is that they are getting too cheap, foreign investments will poor into the country and we will see more and more buyouts of US companies by EU companies.

The market is rising BECAUSE the dollar is weak btw. Cheap to invest in US stocks.

The ONLY reason the market climbed for a few days after the election was because there was a clear cut winner, it will be short lived. The market hasnt done shit the first 4 years of Bush's term and once there is another terrorist attack the market will drop below 8000. No way would I be in the market right now.

The market has done OK for me the entireity of the Presidents term except for one bad month. I sold all of my realestate investments within the past year and added the monies to my accounts and the return has been good...except for one investment account went south for one month but it recovered over the following months.
