Grits are small broken grains of corn. They were first produced by Native Americans centuries ago. They made both "corn" grits and "hominy" grits.
Falls Mill produces "corn" grits. |

The first step in the process is to clean the kernels; then, the grains are steamed for a short time to loosen the tough outer hull.
