A vote for Kerry is really a vote for Bush on some electronic voting machines.
http://www.infozine.com/news/stories...View/sid/4154/ And before all of you go yelling about how it isn't so someone posted a personal experience on GFY of voting straight democratic but the summary screen showing Bush. |

well at least you are one of the brothers that can admit it. Same bull shit happened with the 18-25 voters.. they didn't do shit but sit around and play their X box instead of voting. It's a shame that that's probably what happened. Probably one of the most important elections in our live time and people were too lazy to vote. Its sad isn't it? |

If you don't have a random sample of the population you can have an extremely large error. You really can't even define the error. because they can be systematic. The 2000 exit polling was replete with error. "Voter News Service" handled the 2000 election. It was said to be a "disaster", "comical" and "a joke". As a result, the networks stopped using them for 2004. Here's a quick snippet from a 2000 article. http://baltimore.bizjournals.com/bal...27/daily7.html "Why the uniformity of (wrong) results? This can be explained by a lack of competition. All of the "competing" major networks are actually colluding with one another, and they call their collusion the Voter News Service. Since they all relied upon the same pooled data, naturally they all made the same error," Lande said. |

There were many sites with electoral vote counts and almost all showed an advantage for Bush. One, which used the worst methodology, was latched upon by all those who wanted Kerry to win and there were reason given for how this was a guaranteed win for Kerry. People who really wanted Kerry to win kept on talking about the Democrats getting young people to vote but somehow forgot the Republicans were working their asses off too. Both sides did a great job of getting more people to vote for them in all markets. In the end, this election was almost a carbon copy of 2000 with the same cultural divide as always. The pre-election poll averages were right on the money. |
Kerry won? Does he know this?

Listen, Broward country, FL did send out the 60k absentee ballots on the Friday before election, via FedEx Overnight, including a FedEx Overnight envelope to send it back to the voting place. I can vouch for that, I saw three independent envelopes that got to Ohio just fine on Saturday AM. |

stocktrader23,
You quoted someone that said exit polls haven't been wrong in the past. You were wrong. There were serious errors in 2000 - so bad that Voter News Service had to be fired by the major news services. If you're going to keep jumping from reason to reason as you are proven wrong you have already made up your mind and are reasoning backwards. To continue the debate is pointless because even though your prior reasoning was destroyed you just ignored it and were willing to hold to your "belief". Usually having your supporting reasons crumble should weaken your resolve not strengthen it. What you are ignoring is that Kerry won the states he was supposed to and so did Bush - according to the average of major polls conducted in the prior week. There were really no surprises. Quite predictable. |
Have a nice day people and please remember...
Question the fucked up way our government does ANYTHING and you must wear a tin foil hat. :glugglug |

but... with all due respect to you, this is not the first time anyone has called or suggested you are "a self-righteous fuck"... including me, tho not in those words. Perhaps if you gave some thought to whatever you are typing, your points may come across as more rational. |

"Spoken like a true, impotent, rage-filled left-wing kook. And you wonder why the Democratic party is in a shambles. Please keep it up. Michael Moore and Al Franken in '08!!" Now, I can't really see where the post that you wrote that in response to has me as rage-filled, and certainly not left-wing. I don't wonder why the Democratic party is in a shambles...um, I know. If you truly want Michael Moore and Al Franken for president, more power to you. The scary thing is I think you think you're making some kind of point here(?) God, if you've devolved so far as to only be able to make juvenille insults interspersed with my own posts like some kind of weird chatbot, this has gone beyond even my low expectations of you. |
