It doesn't even matter to these people man. They'll spin it however they have to to be able to say "poor us. we got cheated. republicans are evil. bush is the devil."

A vote for Kerry is really a vote for Bush on some electronic voting machines.

And before all of you go yelling about how it isn't so someone posted a personal experience on GFY of voting straight democratic but the summary screen showing Bush.

Do you not see a problem with millions of votes being "spoiled", electronic voting machines choosing the wrong candidate, republicans using an old ass law to challenge voters in democratic areas, overseas ballots not being recieved, and a myriad of other fuck ups from this "great nation"?

Or are you just a republican that doesn't give a fuck how your candidate got elected you'll just accept what you are told at face value and fuck if it's right or not?

well at least you are one of the brothers that can admit it. Same bull shit happened with the 18-25 voters.. they didn't do shit but sit around and play their X box instead of voting.

It's a shame that that's probably what happened. Probably one of the most important elections in our live time and people were too lazy to vote. Its sad isn't it?

He may be a political scientist but his knowledge of statistics and political history is obviously deficient.

If you don't have a random sample of the population you can have an extremely large error. You really can't even define the error. because they can be systematic.

The 2000 exit polling was replete with error. "Voter News Service" handled the 2000 election. It was said to be a "disaster", "comical" and "a joke". As a result, the networks stopped using them for 2004.

Here's a quick snippet from a 2000 article.

http://baltimore.bizjournals.com/bal...27/daily7.html

"Why the uniformity of (wrong) results? This can be explained by a lack of competition. All of the "competing" major networks are actually colluding with one another, and they call their collusion the Voter News Service. Since they all relied upon the same pooled data, naturally they all made the same error," Lande said.

The problem I see is I read all these people (ok, Democrats) predicting landslide victories for Kerry last week when the average of all the polls was saying it was going to be very close, coming down to Ohio and Florida but with Bush winning in a squeaker.

There were many sites with electoral vote counts and almost all showed an advantage for Bush. One, which used the worst methodology, was latched upon by all those who wanted Kerry to win and there were reason given for how this was a guaranteed win for Kerry. People who really wanted Kerry to win kept on talking about the Democrats getting young people to vote but somehow forgot the Republicans were working their asses off too. Both sides did a great job of getting more people to vote for them in all markets.

In the end, this election was almost a carbon copy of 2000 with the same cultural divide as always. The pre-election poll averages were right on the money.

Listen, Broward country, FL did send out the 60k absentee ballots on the Friday before election, via FedEx Overnight, including a FedEx Overnight envelope to send it back to the voting place.

I can vouch for that, I saw three independent envelopes that got to Ohio just fine on Saturday AM.

stocktrader23,

You quoted someone that said exit polls haven't been wrong in the past. You were wrong. There were serious errors in 2000 - so bad that Voter News Service had to be fired by the major news services.

If you're going to keep jumping from reason to reason as you are proven wrong you have already made up your mind and are reasoning backwards. To continue the debate is pointless because even though your prior reasoning was destroyed you just ignored it and were willing to hold to your "belief".

Usually having your supporting reasons crumble should weaken your resolve not strengthen it.

What you are ignoring is that Kerry won the states he was supposed to and so did Bush - according to the average of major polls conducted in the prior week. There were really no surprises. Quite predictable.

Awesome, the central tabulator program runs on windows and can be edited without logging in by browsing to the vote counts on your hard drive. How sweet of them to make it so fucking easy to cheat.

You're wasting your time, man. These people don't want facts, they want rhetoric and conspiracy theories. You could disprove 1,000 different arguments and it would make no difference. The funny thing is, if Kerry had done something that was blatantly cheating, there was actual proof, yet he had won the presidency, these idiots would be saying "yea dude, Kerry's the man! Cool trick he played on dummy Bush." They'll be crying about Bush's victory for years like a bunch of fucking babies because the fact is, Bush won fair and square. If there was any truth to any of these theories, the Democrats would be all over it like white on rice and never would have conceded.

Ahahahaha, sorry I missed this the first time. Keep trying though. I only pasted that part of the article because I didn't want to paste the whole thing. If you had read it you would know they said the exit polls have worked for decades and weren't fucked up royally until the 2000 election and again this year. My prior reasoning was nowhere near destroyed.

The Democrats could have taken the last election if they had the balls to fight. Too bad you blind fuckers can't see that I am pissed off our country is so royally fucked it makes me sick. Um, Gore dragged the election out for weeks before he finally conceded. At least Kerry had the class to admit he lost and to call for unity (like he'll ever get it).

What's your excuse for having such a hardon for your party that you insist on labeling anyone that doesn't agree with you or points out the idiocy of how things of this importance are handled?

Pointing out facts, is not labeling anyone. Believe me, I have seen way more Bush haters on here who take the hard line that if you disagree with them, you are an idiot, moron, sheep, monkey, "insert insult here". You yourself have called me a self-righteous fuck and an ignorant waste of human flesh simply because I pointed out (along with other people) the fallacy of your arguments. But I'm the big bad "labeler" here. Gimme a break. Grow up and stop pretending you know everything. You don't.

Now, I can't really see where the post that you wrote that in response to has me as rage-filled, and certainly not left-wing. I don't wonder why the Democratic party is in a shambles...um, I know. If you truly want Michael Moore and Al Franken for president, more power to you.

The scary thing is I think you think you're making some kind of point here(?) God, if you've devolved so far as to only be able to make juvenille insults interspersed with my own posts like some kind of weird chatbot, this has gone beyond even my low expectations of you.
