lots of people on here are backing clinton in 08 - question for you

curious - hillory in 08 -ok, good idea - but WHY are you supporting here?

cause she's a democrate and bright and has made good political decisions in her elected background?

or cause she's a woman and rhumored to be gay?

one's the right reason - one ISN'T the right reason to support the possible leader of the free world.

If Kerry couldnt win the SOuth and the Redneck vote, no way Hillary can..

It would be a huge ass kicking for the democrats if they elect her.

Exactly. Funny thing is, Demoractic primary voters will probably do it anyway.

i could care less if the leader of the states was a man or a woman , my ethnic background is english and icelantic -both countries that have had women leaders.

i'm just curious as to why people are backing Hillory - i don't know much about her - other than i LOVED BILL....

America's not ready for a female president yet, and I'm not sure we will see one in our lifetimes. Colin Powell has a better chance getting elected.

It's not really an ignorant statement....America is not ready for a woman president not because I don't think a woman can run the country...but because she just won't be elected.

The religious right helped Bush win this election...and that's primarily made up of a group of people who think it's a woman's job to be at home with their husband.

As Boneprone said...if you can't get the south to vote for Kerry...you won't get them to vote for Hillary..the wife of a president Republicans loved to hate.

It would be a waste of money and time and would only ensure the republicans win the next election.

It's so narrow to assume a woman won't be elected... bugs me, because it can become a self-fulfilling prophecy based on fear...

Margaret Thatcher - UK, KIm Campbell - Canada, Indira Ghandi - India....

Is America really so damn far behind...? I actually don't think so.

I choose Hillary cos she's got nice hair.

I don't think it's narrow at all...just realistic.

I would rather have a woman in the white house...I don't think we'd be in the mess we are in right now with Iraq.

But I'm afraid to put Hillary up for election is exactly what the republicans would want us to do.

Doubt if Powell will run? If he runs I could vote for him depending on the other canidate.

Hillary I believe has designs on the White House. I don't agree with Hillary's politics and I don't trust her.

I can vote for a woman. I can vote for a gay. I can vote for a black person. I think most Aericans can. Although from listening to people, gay would be the hardest pill to swallow. They will get over it in time.

I think Amereica is at a point to elect a woman that might be gay. It would be smart to play down the gay part to the public. There are many on the right that just hate gays. Think they'll look the other way on that so long as it is not in their face.

A lot will happen in four years, so its a little soon to call it for Hillary. To start a rally and get your hopes up on her would be a mistake.

I never said whether or not it was my personal opinion. I never said a woman couldn't do it, I said America wouldn't vote a woman in.

Lets see in how wrong I am in 4 years .

Who cares if the leader is a female as long as she is not there on account of her gender, or is using her position to further feminist policies that discriminate against half of the population.

I tend to think that alot of women help their husbands make good decisions in life and with business (I know mine has) With that said, I think that Hillory may have helped run the country with Bill during his presidency.

Take for example arnold schwarzeneger, he is married to a kennedy now and she told his ass how it was gonna be, that she would not stand for him going on any more campaign trail runs with GWB. He listened...

Also Nancy Regan, She was a driving force with Ronald... Many women figures in the whitehouse have historicly been very good at helping make decisions...

My only question is why the hell doesnt Laura Bu$h put her shoe up GWB's ass!

But above is one reason I feel that Hillory would make a good president..

You're not an American stop trying to have your own opinion and talk about the elections with Americans. You just don't have that right. I don't care if the election effects the world or not you still have no right.

The original strong first lady would have to be FDR's wife, Eleanor Roosevelt.

interesting thought - poeople say the republican southern women won't vote for hillary - but stats say something like 30% of the deeply religious women from this group sign up to adult sites on a regular basis.

could it be possible they many of these woman say one thing publically but vote in a woman privatly?????? every second voter IS a woman - it would be foolish to overlook this, esp if those feel like they arn't in a power position.

just an idea

food for thought - from a political standpoint - i personally think a republican woman would get more turn coates from the democrats than a democrate pulling votes from the republicans...

No you don't get it.

I was born and raised in Texas...in the bible fucking belt.

Was indoctrinated into Assembly of God...while the rest of our family was Catholic.

These people will not vote for a woman to be president...it goes against their beliefs.

These are the same kind of people when I went to my cousin's football game and they prayed over the loud speak I stated..."I thought the courts ruled that it was illegal to pray over events that were not a solemn occassion."
Their response...."In these parts it's illegal NOT to pray"

Is looking at porn an indication of how one would vote? The majority of the so called religious right are our collective customers. It was reported that 80% (if I am quoting the number correctly) of "Promise Keepers" looked at porn within two weeks of the election.

I think more than every second woman votes, I think it is closer to 50% - Did you mean 50% or 33%???

Promise Keepers is a religious group of men that take an oath to love ther wife as Christ loves the church and not to cheat etc. I can't speak for them and that stat was reported on a news program. Sorry no source to quote...

And 21% of Americans voted Bush based on morality issues.

Guess who the president is?

There are other issues at play besides religion, gender and sexual preference, that many seem to be over looking. Newsweek is reporting that the Kerry campaign was a mess and that he was a poor manager.

I suspect that in time the left leaning press will rip Kerry apart and blame him for the loss.

The thing about Hillary is that the Clinton's know how to win elections. So even though I wouldn't vote for her, she would have a running chance at it. Even in the South IMO.

I have to think that like it or not, America is stuck in this fucked up war and as a population I think we would rather have Bush clean up the mess he made rather than let carry take care of our men and women overseas. Kerry is the anti-christ to Military and Veterans.

You are right to have your opinion..but you need to remember there's another reason Gore didn't win the last election other than Florida.

He had to distance himself from Clinton.

Those feelings towards Clinton and his wife haven't changed much...not in the south.

You don't vote here, you don't live here and don't have a chance at understanding the election process here. So I choose not to engage the argument with you. I'll leave you with a tid bit though - morality issues cover a broad range of subjects.

Our Canadian friends are a bit closer to the action.

You mean nominate her. You are absolutely correct. Put Hillary as the Democratic candidate and the Republicans could put up Dan Quayle and still win.

These are the same kind of people when I went to my cousin's football game and they prayed over the loud speak I stated..."I thought the courts ruled that it was illegal to pray over events that were not a solemn occassion."
Their response...."In these parts it's illegal NOT to pray"
Missed this post - I hate it when people don't read all the posts in a thread and comment.

I hate myself now.

Back to the 21% argument.

If Kerry would have come out aginst gays as Clinton suggested, would he have carried the south? That's a moral issue. Answer is, that would not jhave been enough.

Bush pisses me off so much, I can't define it. Think Kerry would have been worse though (set aside affects on our industry).

Dude, slow down. He did not say there was no woman qiualified, he said that "America's not ready for a female president yet." Big difference.

Just had this discussion on AlyTV today . . .Just like the US is not ready for a female, a black, or a Jew. Doesn't mean they are not qualified, just that they are not ready.

You will have a black man before you have a woman. Look for Obama 2012.

I think there was a trust issue with Kerry. The flip-flop and not voting for the 87 billion for the troops made a difference. I don't deny the religious get out the vote affect. That wasn't the only issue though. The trust issue is bigger.

In the end I think Kerry beat himself.

Don't agree, there are blacks and woman that have a shot at it.

May have to be VP 1st? But doubt it.

Collin Powell could have won the election IMO.

He listened for a week, then was in Ohio with Bush last week.

Again, this has nothing to do with qualified, or would GFY webmasters vote her in. The question is, would America?

It won't. Not in '08.
