          Well I saw a documentary (not 911) about the 2000 elections... I wont go into any details but florida was clearly cheated away from Al Gore, it's unbelievable that they call it a democrasy

                                              Damn, it's too bad that something couldn't be done about that. What I don't get is how they can use those voting machines that don't leave a trail, how fucking stupid is that ?? ESPECIALLY since the creator of the machines has vowed to have Bush win the election, that's just wrong.

                                                                                                                                      The exit polls are conducted by the news media. They take an inaccurate sampling of the public. In order to get an accurate poll, you'd have to stop every person coming out of every polling place and FORCE them to answer truthfully.

                                                                                                                                      Exit polls should not exist. They haven't been accurate in ages.

                                                                                                                                                  I think the better explanation, and more probable, is that Rove and Co. mobilized their religious base by ensuring that Gay Marriage was on the ballot in key states.

                                                                                                                                                  This was a masterful move, and highlights the cultural divide in this country. Between those who believe in the constitution, and those who believe in the constitution as amended by the bible.

                                                                                                                                                  'Moral Values' was the key issue, according to polls, above even the economy and terrorism.

                                                                                                                                                  Sad and terrifying. But give it 5-10 years, and the country will cycle back to it's constitutional roots. People don't often realize the broader agenda they are voting in. Actions will tell the tale, and if the Repubs aren't smart about it, and swing to the right too quickly, it will leave a bad taste in many mouths, including those of more moderate republicans.
