Can you please get with your friend at IBill and ask them what Santa Claus is bringing me or if he still needs me to send my list up to the North Pole like the rest of the kiddies?

Yup I was thinking the exact same thing. I have no friends over at Ibill, just someone they passed on to me after getting rid of my rep. You can bet I about burned off my finger dialing Ccbill over it. Course they told that to me after I told them I was just thinking of pulling all the Ibill members from my site, and just having them resign up with Ccbill after they found they could not access the site anymore. (I would just end all rebillings on Ibill as the first of the month and credit back anyone already rebilled for this month) I would lose a few people, but sure most would come back. I guess I'm going to just try the GKArd thing for now and wait and see like everyone else.

Oh, definately. I was one of those in danger of bursting into flame - why I kept bumping the thread. Thankfully, CCbill posted directly - no surprise there, based on the years of good service we've experienced with them.

If the same bank ibill is now with ,the one that wants everyone on ibilldirect is the same bank as another processor .Why is that so impossible to believe?
Even the best processor in the whole probably wouldnt tell the minute they got the letter because they would lose a large chunk of their client base and there is a chance they pull thru.
Now I also wouldnt be so quick to blame iBill for the rumor. We are hearing everything second hand.

We have talked about for the longest time the third party processor model is not going to be forever. So why is it put in the same league as Santa Claus lol.

I agree, we all have enough crap to deal with, I only wanted to point out that Ibill was actually saying stuff like this to site owners ( Like me) and if they said it to me, I'm sure they have said it to others. it may or may not be true but, to specifically name Ccbill was a shock to me and I wanted to find out for myself So I called Ccbill and gave them a heads up to it. then 30 minutes later I see this post here... Someone may have been giving a 90 day leter but I feel confident it was NOT Ccbill. Sorry if it came across like I was trying to substanciate the original post in any way, I just wanted to share that I too had been told this by Ibill.

Didn't I hear you say you'd lost a bunch of weight? ;)

The idea that Merrick, or any other bank for that matter, would tell one client something in regards to another clients banking and finance business is simply ludicrous, and that's even before we start talking about all the confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements that are standard in such financial relationships.

IF, and its a big IF, IBill were in possession of the knowledge that Merrick was going to stop processing for adult, wouldn't that mean that all the IBill Direct clients were about to be homeless yet again? Since there's no way that Merrick would dump CCBill with their history and volume, and keep a bunch of small-time pornographers on the books...

That just wouldn't make sense, would it ;)

I'd be curious to know what IBill employee told you that, since I've never known them to make those kinds of claims about their competition, even when they've been in tight spots. If I were management over there, I'd want to know which one of my overzealous remaining employees was making most likely false statements against a competitor that's never done it to me.

In the scenario you pose, Merrick might just want out of the IPSP model. They might be fine processing for adult, just not adult through an IPSP. The fact that iBill's deal with Merrick is not as an IPSP might lend some credance to this interpretation.

Interestingly a week or two back I heard rumor from someone at iBill that Epoch's ability to processing was on shakey ground. The details of the rumor aren't important and I wouldn't have mentioned it except in light of Samantha's revelation.

Look we just suffered a terrible blow as adult webmasters with the fucking election; the last thing we need is rumor mongering that another processor is going to bite it.

Put up or shut up. Provide proof or fuck off.

You know, that never occurred to me. If Merrick is who Ibill is using for Ibill Direct, why can't they just use Merrick with the normal IPSP setup like CCBill is doing? Why did they have to go with the GKard for that?

The GKard isn't with Merrick. Gkard is with a different bank.

iBill Direct and GKard are two completely different products.

Just since Epoch's name was mentioned here I'll chime in and tell you that Epoch has received no notice, and will not be receiving any notice.

Our banking is rock solid and will remain that way.

Now, get back to business.

Yes, I know. That's what I'm saying. WHY did they have to go to a different bank for an IPSP-like solution/alternative to Ibill Direct.

IF Ibill is using Merrick for Ibill Direct, you would think that they would be able to use Merrick for an IPSP setup too. CCBill does. So unless there is some specific reason that Merrick would do the IPSP setup for CCBill and not Ibill, then it does make a person wonder about this rumor.

And yes, I can post the ICQ logs but whats the point. So the word is out that SOMEONE recieved this 90 day letter, who no one is saying, but might be a clear example of things to come.

Samantha

Let me set the record straight once and for all since it does not get any higher at CCbill than me.

This is Completely FALSE. CCbill has not received any letters from it banking acquirer's or Card Associations about any terminations. I can assure you that our US banking Acquirers would not have just signed a multi year long term contract with us this year if they were planning on exiting the space.

I can also state that I have not heard of any other IPSP receiving any notice from either the Card Associations or their Acquirers about this fact. I am pretty sure that considering CCbill's position in this industry I would be one of the first to hear this, and it would not be from some anonymous guy on GFY

This being said I would have no problem recommending Paycom to any of our customers as a secondary processor. They are a leader in this industry and in my opinion second only to CCbill (I am a little biased here)

I also personally do not believe that this is a statement that was made by IBill or Penthouse management. It personally sounds like a ex employee or a soon to be ex employee that is just trying to use scare tactics to sell.

Well I am off to see a bunch of Webmasters tonight, I sure Punker Barbie is already drunk since she has been at the bar for the last 2 hrs with friends, so I will not be able to respond tonight.

Rest assured that CCbill and the Adult industry are here to stay. I am quite sure of that!!!!.

Steve and everyone else in this thread THANK YOU for your support we will not let you down

I support this motion.

I wasted too much time reading through this thread which had little value but it was not something I could ignore because of the nature of the subject line and the current processor environment.

Well, I think everyone has learned two important things from this thread:

1) Pretending to be me doesn't help you get laid at a convention.
2) Elton John is gay.

Maybe non-competition agreement with Merricks other IPSP's and also the added risk and integration Merrick would have to undergo taking on a new IPSP. It's not like IPSP's are opening every day like 4 years ago and their is a reason for that. Not saying this is the case, just providing alternate possible reasons.

Ron - Thank you very much for posting! That's a relief.

Mike - Could very well be.

Also I wonder... Has anybody actually confirmed that Ibill Direct uses Merrick? Or is this also just a rumor?

THANK GOD!

Ron Ccbill is my primary and has been for a long while now, I love you guys! Paycom is my new secondary (As soon as the links become active. If it was said as a scare tactic by them (Ibill) it worked, I about crapped myself cause if something like this was true we would go under. I'm glad that this has come out in the open here and trashed, I HATE rumors and did NOT post what I was told to fuel a rumor but to let people know what was being told to people like me. Like I said before, when they specifically named you guys I wanted to call and give you the heads up as to what they where telling webmasters. I wish I rememberd the 2 people we spoke with over at ccbill First was a female second was a male and they had the record set strait before I hung up. When this thead started just 30 minutes after I hung up with ccbill I thought it was important enought to warn people that yes, IBILL is claiming stuff like this to webmasters directly. I could kick myself for not saving the ICQ log with the Ibill Account Executive I was speaking with. She's my new account rep since my old one is no longer with the company.

Thanks to both Corvette and Ron for coming over here to ease our minds! Top Notch!

In a world where content and software is sold on an exclusive basis EVERY day, what makes you think that banking agreements can't be sold the same way?

I'll stand by for your answer.

Steve Lightspeed
I doubt it that Corvett would post.

The rumor is scary though, and I hope that it is just a rumor. My bank (bussiness account) was gobble up by Bank of Americia within few months recently. While depositing checks, I asked one of tellers if I should be worry. She said no but they were very strict.

I called Card Service and the rep had no clue what I was talking about...once again I hope it is just a rumor.

Add to that, - the fact that any idiot with a rumor can crawl into GFY and get 1200 views based on nada fact!

Unbelievable!

Let him answer this and if it is unsubstantiated or if no names are mentioned then start the hangings.

There's already another thread about this as well and it needs to be dealt with.

I have no idea, that's why I was asking, to see if anybody knew what the reason was, or could be. That's why my name has "newbie" in it. Even after nearly 8 years of doing this, I still feel like I don't know anything.

I'm just glad this whole thing was nothing but a rumor. If something happened to CCBill on top of this Ibill stuff, I think I'd just keel over on the spot.

Thanks - I can't even imagine trying to deal with news like that on a day like today with Bush and all....I hope whoever it is doesnt hurt people like ibill has.

I've been in it nearly as long and you know what? If I can't learn something from everyone I deal with then I need to give it up.

I know you've been around forever, but I learned from your post that it doesn't guarantee what areas of the business someone excels in. Yours isn't processing, and I'd never have realized it, since most people who go way back have had to fight to get it and fight harder to keep it.

Learning experience, thanks

RonC...Lets get a few things straight:

1) I never said which company received the notice. Maybe it is or maybe it is not your company.

2) My suggestion to you to assure your customers is post the new agreement you mentioned in your thread.

3) Now since you claim that you would have been one of the first to hear about it (assuming it is not your company) I guess you weren't.

4) You are very perceptive in that this did not come from IBILL or Penthouse Management. I have already written that I have never worked for IBILL or Penthouse and I have never received a dime from either company.

5) Now put your money where your mouth is. If I am correct I will pay every one of your customers fees for 6 months. If I am correct you give them free service for 6 months. If you would rather make a personal bet name your price.

You writing that I should be banned is calling me a liar and I have already proven on this board that when I write something it is true.

Have a nice evening.
