How can I uninstall windows XP Pro

does anyone know how i can uninstall windows. it wont let me do it through the conventional way i think because I 've modified files since its been installed. Its a trial version and I've just bought XP Home Edition and of course it won't let me downgrade.
does anyone know a way around this..

thank you>>>>>

Why would you ever downgrade to XP home??

Pro is MUCH better.

just get another HD and copy.... save on CD:s or whatever. You will not be able to get rid of it without Format C

Best way to go about it is buy a new HD, install XP on that and copy as much shit across, it's impossible to 'downgrade' it's also impossible to ghost stuff across cause of the NTFS encryption.

If you are worried about losing your data, you could always use a program like 'partition magic' to create a second drive, move everything over to that, and then format the first partition and reinstall windows onto that.

same thing happen with me. I installed a trial Windows XP from Windows 98. XP didn't like the upgrade from 98 and did weird shit. I called Microsoft Customer Service and we tried everything under the sun to get my 98 back. We ended up re-formatting my computer.

if you install xp on the new HD.. you will not be able to copy over.. exactly for that reason.. NTFS partition.

YOU can gohst. the best thing to do is back everything up on a slave drive.. be it internal or external. Once you install the operationg system on the HD .. it encrypts files so that they can only be read when that HD is booted.
