What,s the real discussion here?

videoxpix 11-03-2004 07:34 PM

LOSER-You just dont get it.

"Jihad is a central duty of every Muslim. Modern Muslim theologians have spoken of many things as jihads: defending the faith from critics, supporting its growth and defense financially, even migrating to non-Muslim lands for the purpose of spreading Islam. But violent jihad is a constant of Islamic history. Many passages of the Qur'an and sayings of the Prophet Muhammad are used by radical Muslims today to justify their actions and gain new recruits. No major Muslim group has ever repudiated the doctrines of armed jihad. The theology of jihad, which denies unbelievers equality of human rights and dignity, is available today for anyone with the will and means to bring it to life."

It's really very hard to distinguish between an ignorant Bush-bashing webmaster, Michael Moore, Usama Bin Laden, or John Kerry since you all sound precisely the same.

The question is, how can the majority of America be stupid enough not to see this? Maybe if you all turn off your TVs for a couple years sanity will return to your country. Until then, most of the world will no longer be shedding tears for your dead, you can count on that.

One of the major issues in the country is that the media doesnt show the negative sides of the war. They love to show shots of rounds being fired, but not where they land and what damage to buildings and people they cause. We never get reports or shots of the innocent people who have been killed or mamed by our bombs, guns etc. And we only briefly hear the names of the soldiers who die, and never do we see the coffins returning home, or the weeping families etc.

If the media showed an unbiased, unfiltered report of the effects of the war, many people would have a much different view of it all. The truth is that really since we dont see, nor know people who are dying or getting mamed in this wars, its really outta sight outta mind.

The draft would sure the fuck wake people up though.

Rochard 11-03-2004 07:58 PM

In WWII, the Japanese Admiral said shortly before he launced his planes on Pearl Harbor "We will have awakened a sleeping giant". And they did the same again on 9/11.

This is the way of life in the Middle East and it has been this way since the end of WWII. Blame it on the people who ruled the Middle East for the past sixty years.

Most of the Middle East was being supported by Russia anyhow, and now that Russia is gone they continue to blame their problems on us. It's just so much easier to blame someone else, anyone else, other than youselves.

Bush was re-elected, much to my dismay, because of 9/11.

it's not your prob dude, so don't be starting threads like "they deserved it"

you want to make a diff in the world? move to Iraq, join up with the terrorists and fight against the USA if you're so "anti-american"

then maybe some lucky soldier from Ohio will have the pleasure of killing you in the line of duty

:BangBang:

While I think the thread starter is a complete douche bag for even saying something like "the US deserved 9/11"...

You sir, are his equal. It's precisely comments like this that make all other nations look down on you.

Other nations see from the outside in. While you think all non-american opinions mean squat, they probably see things more clearly than you ever could -- you are looking from the inside out. The world over suffers from incompetent and greedy decisions from your beloved administration.

You condemn a nation simply because one of its citizens has an opinion on your country?

Go ahead, continue your "not caring" attitude and then wonder "why oh why" terrorist morons will die in droves to wreak havoc on your soil.

Nobody deserves what happened on 9/11 ... but at the very least, you can understand what brought it on.

No, blame it on US foreign policy. Where are you getting your "facts"?

cypocrypt 11-03-2004 08:35 PM

i lost a couple of good friends in the towers and reading your justifications to such event makes me sick to my stomach....

here are some facts you may want to get straight before continuing your dumb arguments

* 9/11 happened before our idiotic leader invaded iraq

* 9/11 was in the works way before the first gulf war so they were planning the pre-emptive strike against us before anybody bombed anything in iraq

* if you had lost a loved one on any terrorist event your position would be totally different....maybe they bomb something n canada next and hopefully you or your mom happen to die in it....

think before you make bold/idiotic statements...no one and i mean NO ONE deserved such fate

idiot

there i feel better

I guess you completely missed the point. Expected.

You'll care within the next 4 years.

Quoting a movie is like quoting a fairy tale. Now we know.

While I don't like the war, I don't buy the "blood for oil" rhetoric. It's old and completely unsubstantiated.

Yes, yes I was.

My gas prices are higher than yours even though my country produces it's own oil.

Waits at the border are extremely long (I live on the Detroit River and need to cross often -- more of an inconvenience.. but hey.. time is money right?)

I live less than 2 miles away from Detroit (a major target if a real war ever broke out on American soil).

I think I'm affected :)

(didn't mention our dollar rising which hurts me financially.. but that's superficial)

It wasn't a pre-emptive strike, because 9/11 was a response to our middle east foreign policy. It was fucked up then, but it's gotten even more fucked up. The first attempt at taking the towers down didn't work, but the second one did. It seems to me that we gave ample reason for a second attempt and are currently giving more then ample reason for a third.

I guess my biggest problem is that Americans think "ah.. Canadians.. who cares". Everything that happens over there affects us. We may not be able to vote in your elections (Kerry would have won), but damnit our opinion should matter .. as well as any other nation's.

Being the last "Superpower" in the world, your decisions affect everyone.

Continuing an "You're X, who cares what you think" will only bring more shit your way.

Every American was directly effected by 9/11 one way or another.

I think alot of the world (american or not) was affected by it, and will continue to be affected by it for the foreseeable future.

But some part of mine is telling me that they have a family too... and that if it was my family i would be more than angry to see the americans support that

learn to spell, you ass

The things that get said on this board against Americans are frightening at times.

Man, hate us if you want, but don't wish 9/11 again on us or anyone. Those were people from all over the world in that building not just Americans.

Again, I don't support this guy's comments... but unless you are blind (or ignorant) you'd see he's from Quebec -- English is not his native language.

To call him an ass because of spelling, only shows what an ass you are.

If you can't argue it, attack spelling/grammar right?

Why not try adding some actual insight to this thread instead of being a jackass?

nightmessiah 11-03-2004 10:45 PM

Yeah I guess you're right. I'm sorry. I'm American and I guess I just got caught up in the heat of the moment.

Here: I do not like what Bush did. I think that he might well be on the track to becoming a terrorist himself. I guess that everyone has gone through enough pain. Now what we need is something different.

Hey I guess sence we can't impeach Bush for lying about WMDs then we can always hope that he sleeps with an intern and lies about it. Sence that seems to be what most of us Americans hate the most. (look at Clinton)
