Believe it or not this has very little to do with the US election. Mostly, I'm just sick of cold weather. I want beaches and sunshine. Mexico is one of my top 5 choices. Also looking at the Caribbean.
Here are my requirements: (1) Close to the USA, so I can visit family pretty often. (2) Easy access to an International Airport. (3) Reasonable cost of living and housing prices. (4) Beautiful beaches. (5) Reliable HIGHSPEED internet in my home. (6) Laid back lifestyle. (7) Good restaurants. Who has input on this? Anyone living in Mexico or the Caribbean? What Latin America cities are particularly US expat friendly? |

I've been all over Mexico. My favorite country...and I've hit quite a few.
You want beaches, so I won't recommend Mexico City. I loved any time I got to spend there. Cabo and Acapulco will both suit your needs quite nicely. Even Highspeed internet was available the last time I was there. |

Yeah, I've been considering Acapulco.
What's the story on Satellite TV in Acapulco? Does Cabo really have highspeed internet? I wouldn't have guessed that. Any comments on Cancun? Is it just too commercial? |

Cabo and Acapulco had highspeed in the hotels and offices, so I know it's there...somewhere. |

There's always paperwork to do, but not as bad as moving into the USA. Mexico (for the most part) likes to welcome people from the States...and more importantly, their money!

The legitimate route isn't all that involved, in comparison to say...Canada. |
