Don't wear political paraphernalia to the polls!

A caller on the radio show I'm listening to just said he was forced to remove the Bush pin on his shirt. What's the rationale behind that?

Interesting.

Anyone who wears Bush pins or shirts should take them off no matter where they are. That band sucked.

Actually, it probably has to do w/ people fighting people or something. Dumb.

Actually I just heard it was some kind of law. What the fuck? Its pretty obvious why though. People have a very hard time dealing with the fact that others have different opinions. Fights ensue, etc.

Lame!

I went to the polls today in Arizona.
I was told I had to remove my shirt (that had a "W" w/circle slash through it). I asked the guy why and he said "no campaigning within 75 feet". I told him I wasn't campaigning, that I was just an individual wearing a shirt. He made me turn it inside out.

I told him I was calling the board of elections. They say it's up to his interpretation of whether I was considered "campaigning" or not.

Another Unfortunate Situation In Florida

There are new touch-screen devices to count our votes in Florida now. A friend of mine went to the polls this morning and voted for Kerry. When she finished, she opted to review her votes. To her surprise, the review stated that she had "voted" for Bush. When my friend confronted someone about the discrepancy the woman replied, "Yeah the new touch screens are very sensitive." If you are voting in Florida, please review your balot...let's not let this happen again!!!

Earlier today they (CNN) interviewed a lady that this happened to down there. I guess she wouldn't allow anyone to touch the machine until an attorney was present. After he arrived they reviewed her vote and she did indeed vote for Kerry yet it defaulted to Bush for some reason.

They removed the machine and she placed her vote on another. What about all those votes on that machine? This is going to be a big mess.

Yes, because you might be criticized by some voters who is in favor of the other candidate.

That has always been the law. No campaigning within several hundred feet of a polling location

Make your call, that is the law, and yeah, you were campaigning

I'm in PA.
Within 10ft. of the polling area (an elementary school gymnasium), there were signs for all parties staked into the ground outside.
They were about 30ft. from the actual polling machines.
So I dunno.
The law must vary state to state.

If this is really law then NH is slacking cuz at 6:30 am when i went vote they were campaigning right outside the door of the school where we were voting signs and all . Rather annoying being stared down that early in the morning .
