Kuwawawah... I made a typo there. Actually I was choosing between a red and a yellow 355 or this 360. The "old people's car" is the 550. Nice car, but not before my 50's ;-)... My wife chose the 360 over the 355. Ain't she great! ;-)

ferrari is an amazing car and it's not in good prices in all european countries my friend Equinox, the cheapest ferrari in Greece with paid taxes costs about $280.000. Although i don't live in a rich neighboor, less than 200m from my house lives a guy that has a Diablo. It's a nice car also, but i'll stick with my big blue mercedes.
P.S. Buses in Greece are blue ![]() |

Hun, a good friend of me from Slovenia just asked me if you're willing to exchange your car with a Yugo Testarossa concept car. It sounds a good idea, but something he told me that you have to pay the difference. Don't worry I think I can arrange that.

Ferraris are just remarkable cars, and the 360s...I have yet to hear a bad review..haha. That's a beautiful example you have there Hun :-) As for the supercar market (cars that run 200+ Miles an hour), there have been a lot of companies putting out efforts in this area lately. Volkswagen is going crazy...planning on releasing a W-12 powered car in 2003 and the new Bugatti Veyron with Over 930 Hp! If Porsche gets enough interest, they are going to begin production on the Carrera GT...which if you haven't seen yet, is an awesome car that will be priced in the $250,000+ category powered by the company's first V-10. Mosler and Saleen are both offering some new super phatty cars capable of incredible speed, and both include some of the styling characteristics of the F1. Also, Toyota is looking at building a nice sports car powered by it's bigger V-10 engine used to drive Toyota limousines overseas. Anyways, for anybody interested in very exotic cars, there's a lot of neat stuff going on..haha. |

On-top, did anyone tell you to
![]() lately ? In case not, hello and welcome ![]() It even seems like you know your shit about sports cars ! In my opinion the new Bugatti Veyron is just a joke ![]() The funniest thing was that when Bugatti alias VW presented the Veyron (as a concept car) a couple of months ago, it didn't even have any rear view mirrors and not even fancy cameras pointing towards the back. Ouch. I am a Aston Martin lover myself, I love the new "Project Vantage" (that's the prototype name, not sure about the official name though) with it's V12 engine. Yummy. I am really looking forward to see the Ferrari F60 -> supposedly the world's fastest car in production ![]() |

HUN have you hit some serious speed yet? In a short burst your car can be in the 250km without really knowing it. I think i've come close to 290km, i wasn't really looking at the odomoter thou.

Hey Equinox :-) Thanks for the welcome! I've been hanging around here for a while now, and figured I better jump into the fun eventually. Yeah, the Veyron does appear a little cooky, but then again, it's pretty bad-ass..haha. They were going to bring back Bugatti with a super nice luxo boat car, but the public will only spend so much $$ on a luxury car. So instead they build a nearly 1000 Hp rocket. :-) I agree VW's history is tainted socially, and they've build a lot of crap. But I think they might be ready to do some wild things. The future will tell. |

Fastest I've taken it so far is 290 km/h (about 180 MPH). Wouldn't change it for a Testarossa though, no matter what you put in front of it... I saw some of the older Ferrari's. Most of 'em have extra oil on the passenger seat. The Modena can be used as a regular car without many problems. And that's what I use it for too... I even go to the groserystory with it to pick up small things ;-)

MrBrian, I agree with you a lot of the time...but when was the last time you drove a $100,000+ car? ;-) There is just something about a vehicle that is designed from Day #1 to perform at its maximum that makes your hair stand on end. Gives you that tingly feeling down inside...and to some people, it's worth the extra cash... peace |

On-Top I agree, but still. Having the image of drinving a 1000hp beetle would scare me, although the Bugatti logo marks the front hood.
Although... considering that there's basically no independent car companies out there anymore, we'll end up having 2 or 3 companies on the market that will rule by themselves. Just look at it: Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Ferrari and all the others are not independent anymore. For instance - Lincoln, Mercury, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Land Rover, Mazda and Volvo all belong to Ford Motor Company. Just like it is with Bugatti and Volkswagen, the newer cars are all gonna be the product of mainstream designers and you'll won't be able to destinguish them anymore. Can you imagine having the VW Passat look like the Bugatti and vise versa ? ![]() I actually like the tendency of companies to revive the retro look. Just a week ago I saw the Ford Thunderbird on a freeway. Nice looking car. I wish they weren't as bubbly though. A little round-shaped is good, but the companies seem to exaggerate. Equinox,
Again I agree, the companies are all going to consolidation and interchangable everything. Like the AudiTT being completely based on the Golf platform, what is up with that? But they pull it off and move on. That's the nature of the beast. There is some major restructuring going on in the automobile markets right now. The US has lost such a percentage of the market that they're doing twice as much now just to stay alive. Hard work for the manufacturers, but fun for comsumers. |

Soul, I wish I could drive that car, trust me. It does ~ 250 KM/h max, that'd be plenty for the US highways. Since my dad's mother's sister's son Francesco lives in Italy, he enjoys the lack of speed limits on domestic highways.
![]() On-Top, did you hear about the trouble that the TT had ? On gosh, major scandal in Germany last year because Audi had to take back thousands of sold cars due to a malfunction that even caused the death of a few ppl ![]() ![]() |

Yeah, I knew they had to add the spoilers..but they kept the news pretty quiet. Now the Audi's without the spoilers are like collectors items :-) It's all good. I might just have an unhealthy obsession with cars... |

No matter how much or extensively you modify a cheap car you're never going to make a front wheel drive Japanese bucket into a Porsche-Ferrari-McLaren-BMW.
It has to do with a lot of things. Chassis twisting stiffness, suspension pick up points and design, etc. I drive a tricked out 2001 Prelude but there's no way in hell that it's ever going to compare dynamically to a WRX, BMW 330, S2ooo, whatever. |

I enjoy modifing cars too, but found out the more I modified the more headaches I got. Yes I've been beating by soup-up talons down the quarter-mile, but my car isn't really for dragging, it's more for top speed and high speed acceleration. Also seen talons and civics blowup down the quarter-mile and laugh...

no offense to the hun. but, there is a reason ferraris only come with 3 year/36k mile warranties. the average tune up is 5k alone. also, to keep your warranty, you are suppose to use ferrari oil(mobile 1) thats 20 bucks a quart of you lose your warranty(at least in the usa). i have two friends that have 355s, and about every 1500 miles its in the shop for something. yes, the car is a piece of art. but, not practical to me.
on-top - ive driven a few 100k cars. a lolo protype worth about 1M is probably the best i can do. i dont know the exact cost of the car. but, i know the judd v10 is leased for 1M a year...my friends neighbor has a 2001 diablo vt convertable. i have yet to manage to obtain the keys. working on it though ![]() snow-my car has a/c, amps and a bass tube, and full glass. i pick up my gf in my wrx anyways. hehe as for my car, its a '93 rx7. 2650 pounds and 425rwhp. 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and top speed est 189 with 4.1 gears. ive never done a top speed run myself. i know it goes 0-100mph around 7.5 seconds though. my next toy will probably be a 2002 elise with a turbo charged 1.8 vtec engine. should be about 320hp and weigh in at 1700 pounds. if anyone wants real speed, get a motorcycle. if i knew how to drive one, i'd probably be dead ![]() |

HQ-
the f&f was a movie...not reality. the red rx7 in the movie in reality only has about 300hp. also, nobody uses that much nitrous even with perfect fuel mapping and an engine made of cast iron ![]() |

if you want a 10 second rx7, you have to
1. heavily street port the engine 2. greddy t-78 turbo or something similar 3. haltech/motech/tecii ecu with about 10 hours of dyno time 4. 15k-20k to pay for everything 5. earplugs. my car hits 108db. im sure a 10 second car is well over that there is a huge difference in hp to 1/4 times the faster you want. ie. from 15 seconds to 13 second in the 1/4 mile you need 180hp to 275hp. to get down into the 10s you'd need around 500hp. for an rx7 to run 7s, it needs 1100hp and to weigh 350 pounds less than normal |
