For the presidential elections normally results come in all day and after the polls close it takes about 3 hours for most of it to come in. If one side is so far ahead the other couldn't win even if all the remaining votes were for them the other side usually will make a concession speech congratulating the other candidate and thanking all the people who helped in their campaign.
