Boycie returns for Fools spin-off

Boycie and Marlene, two of the best-loved characters from BBC hit sitcom Only Fools and Horses, are to reunite for the spin-off Green, Green Grass.
The BBC confirmed that a pilot episode about the dodgy car dealer and his long-suffering wife is being filmed.

If the pilot, written by Only Fools and Horses creator John Sullivan, is a success it will become a series.

The actors, John Challis and Sue Holderness, are the only ones from the original series taking part.

The stars of Only Fools and Horses, David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst, will not be involved.

Green, Green Grass will see Boycie and Marlene moving out of Peckham for a more refined life in the country, along with their son Tyler.

'Never say never'

The pilot will go into production next year, with a potential series being ready for broadcast in 2005.

Writer Sullivan penned seven series of the hugely successful Only Fools and Horses, beginning in 1981.

There have also been a number of Christmas specials, which continued to attract very large audiences, drawing 15.5 million viewers on Christmas Day 2003.

It recently was chosen as Britain's best sitcom in a best sitcom poll, beating the likes of Blackadder, Porridge and Dad's Army.

A BBC spokesman said there were no plans for any more episodes of Only Fools and Horses, but added "never say never".

"Only Fools And Horses" is without a doubt THE best sitcom in UK history. This is a fucking funny series - a work of genius.

In fact nothing comes close... not even Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, Rising Damp, Red Dwarf etc. Though theyre all great but nowhere near del boy.
