OK, fine. I don't really care who used the bots, but rather how do we know bots were used?

IMHO, even if the bot user didn't win, that's still cheating in a contest in an attempt to defraud someone else. I would think that's the sort of thing that should constitute a banning.

We hit 5000 posts without bots in 4 days when we gave out like $5500 in cash, it's been weeks and with bots to try and reach 3000 for an ipod....

Dont feel bad for giving away a worthwhile prize. It takes things like Ipod a lot longer to reach the end of the contest, but that doesnt mean its better marketing. It means most people dont even stop to look at the thread for a prize like that. Also a $5500 prize lets people know that your company has cash behind it.

True, however I do think it was a wise move on their part in the fact that it had the thread, basically advertising their name, stick on the front page...

However you are right.....actual results cannot be known from the two approaches unless we share the info :)
