    the... content

i see a lot of sites that sell galleries, which is probably the smart path to follow. however I wonder - how much difference is the price if you are creating your own content? i mean, i know some webbys do it- i wonder where i could research that. like modeling fees, camera crews, etc. not that i'm neccesarily going to go that path - i feel it would be good to have it in mind while deciding on content

Trust me, buying cheap content is worth it in the long run over the expense and paperwork of rolling your own. Seriously, cut your teeth first with buying the stuff unless you are already an accomplished photographer in your own right.

Post this question in the other forum, you will see what the content guys list off, off the top of my head, you have cameras, take a Nikon D100, right there we're talking about $1100, you have your model, you need to make sure that she's over 18 and have enough paperwork to prove it when the DOJ guys are there with raid jackets and search warrant in hand. You have to pay the model something, you have to fend off the boyfriend, or the girlfriend, copyright issues, etc...

I'd add more but I have a terrible Wild Turkey hangover, I hope you are getting the picture.
