Yes, the web is the reason several of my close friends that are / were diehard Republicans have gone from loving Bush to hating his guts over the last 4 years. Say what you want but I've seen it first hand over and over again. 50% of the US and 90% of the world hating the same man is not "appearing larger than it really is". Wake up and smell the duck.

Conversely, I know many "lifetime" Democrats who will not vote for Kerry. The candidate himslelf is largely to blame - but bullshit movies like F911, the web, pop band and actor/activist pontifications are commonly credited for switching these diehards.
