    Funbrunette a Criminologist?

I'm into Human Resources Magament, but I've always wanted a degree in Criminology. I'm seriously considering getting my dedree on-line (it's pretty much the same, still have to write a thesis) a bit longer...

Hey, I figure I'm still young to have a new career, anyone know about Pheonix University? (BTW, I've already checked it's recognized in Canada)

Nothing is easy when it comes to education, but that's the challenge and the reward is motivating!

        Heya FB

As someone who got 2 freakin degrees in the area, I can tell you that some of it can be quite fascinating. Although if you're looking to study serial killers or mass murderers -- the real sexy stuff then you might be better off in a psych program.

Phoenix has an excellent program -- it's a true criminology degree, not a criminal justice degree. Was my PhD dream school. And, it's quite inter-disciplinary if you're looking to do something a little more unique.

I'll tell you though....University de Montreal has the first criminology program developed in Canada -- it's definitely a good one. There are also programs in Ottawa, Toronto, Manitoba, and out at Simon Fraser in B.C. --- not sure how many of them are offering their full programs online, but they're all worth checking out.

Good luck, hon....and no....you're never too old to try something new

One of my best friends - a woman - is into that line of work. She works with criminals and drug pushers daily, carries a gun, and makes about $40k a year.

Why in the world would you limit yourself like that?

Not to mention when you hand over your resume and they see you've worked in the adult Internet industry..... The odds of getting hired are pretty slim.

a criminology degree is a great waste of time. Ask people who are doing the things that you want to do, if they have that kind of degree and if it helped. The answer will be no.
Don't buy everything the schools try to sell you. Do your research and you will find out that a criminology degree is not worth it. Something like forensic psychology, or such would be most likely more useful and interesting.

You're wasting your time. First few years, IF you are lucky, you will not make more than $35k/year. By the 3rd or 4th year, you will see it was a waste of your time. If you were not rising up through the ranks of somewhere getting your degree at the same time, you will probably be a runner.

I'm not doing it to become rich! I'm doing it for the interest and the opportunities, I have a job guaranteed (having half my family highly place in the field )

                              1) you have to post to Outlook Express Newsgroups. You most post twice a week, two different days a week or you will be dropped
                              2) most of your work is GROUP PROJECTS. I hate group projects.
