As long as the email doesn't ask you to buy an appraisal from a link (with sender's ref code), then for sure I'd take the guy up on his offer.

That's an old scam trick. Someone emails you saying they want your domain, but want YOU to buy an appraisal.

Trust me, if someone is willing to pay 75K for a domain, they dont need you to buy an appraisal. Write the person back and tell them that if he needs an appraisal, he is free to acquire one himself.

There's a 99.99999% chance you will never hear from the person again.

Edit: if you still believe the inquiry is legit, then tell them that you will reduce the sales price by $500, but they still must pay the $250 appraisal fee.

Make the buyer pay for the appraisal and give him a discount on the sales price (by as much as you want). I promise you the only thing he is after is your business (to use his sponsor).
