any hardware gurus? i'm stumped
i have a PC here that I want to reinstall windows on (i have a brand new HD for the pc).
I can get into the PC's bios settings, and changed the boot order to boot to CD first, then floppy second.. when i reboot the pc, it almost bypasses my settings and goes to black screen and makes a few beeping sounds.. whats up with this? any help would be appreciated

Make sure your OS cd is bootable
I had a cd I burnt that turns out wasnt bootable (i didnt know) and it would just skip the CD rom... i messed with it for around 2 hours before i figured it out then I had another cd that was bootable but burned on some funky black cd media and wasnt detected

You could just use a boot floppy and then change to the CD drive. That will work for now.
