How much are the rents in scottsdale Vs. Mesa?

What area has a better nightlife?

What area is more populated?

What area has better restaurants and shopping?

Thanks

I hear chandler is a nice place to stay...
Tempe and Scottsdale are overrated and you dont get much for your money. there are some nice places to stay at in mesa...that is if you dont mind getting your car broken into. Chandler is like 7 miles from tempe...not a bad place to live and its at a reasonable price.

rents are cheap

take a look at www.craigslist.org

Scottsdale has the best nightlife, restaurants and shopping.

Tucson is lame. Tempe or Scottsdale is where its at. ASU is in tempe so its a college crowd. Scottsdale is full of people who wish they were in LA. they have 60k cars and still live in apartments...not all the people there but a lot of the nightlife crowd. id say tempe. Chandler is not that cool. its basically ok. and there are some parts in Chandler that are worse than Mesa.

Tempe rent, when i first got an aparment there was 940 a month 2 bedroom, 2 bath. a good place, about 4 miles from campus. Rent closer to campus goes up pretty much (unless you want a POS place)

Friends that live in Scottsdale, near where all the scottsdale nightlife is, pay between 1100 and 1200 a month for a 2 bed 2 bath place, 4 floors up.

Hope this helps.

Guys

Thanks for all the tips. The rents look affordable compared to what I have been paying living in NYC and Boston.

I took a quick look at craigs list and saw some nice looking places.

How is the weather this time of year and moving forward?

I want to spend a few months running and clearing my head...is it too warm to excersise outdoors?

What about big gyms? Any recomendations?

Why is everyone saying to stay away from Tuscon? Isn't the big university over there?

yeah U of A is there. and thats it lol. and go 3 miles south of U of A and its some seriously bad neighborhoods.not NY hoods or Boston hoods, those are tough, AZ hoods are not nearly as bad. its been sunny and like 80 degrees the last 2-3 days, which is a lil warmer than usual. but the weather from Oct to April is why ppl live in AZ. Summer is brutal, but the other months are great.

Health Clubs....well if you want to pick up on chicks, theres a new LA Fitness in Scottsdale, on Scottsdale Road i think. Also anywhere near ASU is great for chicks too.

anything else?

Got it other than the school nothing is happening.

I envy you and the weather you guys are having. Sounds really nice.

For curiosity sake what are considered the most exclusive neighborhoods in scottsdale area? I am not at that level now but just interested in research.

Any idea if there are any runners clubs in these areas?

Thanks for all the help AZlord and others

Any idea what the comercial Real Estate market is like?

How are rents per foot? Availability? Do landlords help with buildouts or are they like landlords back east and make you foot the bill.

Hit me up on ICQ if you need help. These are the areas that I'm familiar with.

Phoenix: Nice pockets of homes here and there. Overall, it seems like a giant parking lot. Coming from Chicago, I was not impressed in the least. Very spread out and the downtown is lame. Solid nightlife seems sparse. Parts of the Biltmore section have nice condos.

Scottsdale: Tons of condos. Watch out for overpriced apartments. Scottsdale has lots of nightlife that doesn't contain mainly college kids or people with mullets. The best restaurants (over 500 total), clubs, shopping, and golf/resorts. Lots of golf loving crakers and "rich" people that have maxed out credit.

Paradise Valley if you are looking for an estate. The sickest cribs are here IMO. Lots of families. Beautiful.

Tempe has nice condos, diversity and thousands of college girls... did I mention thousands of college girls? Just don't be that guy that lives on campus that isn't in school.

Chandler/Ahwatukee: Very Boring. Lots of nice condos and homes. If I had a family I would think about living there.

I live in Scottsdale. If you treasure gorgeous women, thats my suggestion. Fun place

Good Luck...

haha.. this thread is funny.

Don't hate if you cant hang in Scottsdale / PV

Lot of peeps live in Scottsdale.... Very nice place... LA sucks balls.. Really.. It does.

Fountain Hills is nice to.. But I have a family.. So I see things differant then others.

Personally.. I'm up by Scottsdale Mountain.. Northeast of everything.. So I have the best of both worlds
