odd, there are tons of people with 50 million non liquid. they're not rich?

and what is liquid? cash? bank accounts? bonds? stocks? options? real estate? gold? etc - at what point does property become liquid vs non liquid? (even cash is in fact property)

If you have a million laying around doing nothing that's just plain stupid. There are lots of investments that you can cash in fairly rapidly if you have to.

of course someone with millions of dollars of property wil one day be rich.

however since i have met so many people like that, andmany people with lots of money..i came up with my own standard..i believe liquid usually refers to assets in the form of cash (or easily convertible into cash)

not looking to belittle anyone..but since i have met so many people with lots of money..i needed to classify them someway..lol

i have a friend who owns 11 rental properties in cambridge and waterloo...he will one day be well off...but he is a broke mofo..all his money goes to the properties.

exactly, i find liquid cash is relative to cash flow and assets though. a million for some is like $100K for others is like $10 for others. amount of cash on hand is usually relative to one's total wealth.

And most real estates aren't that fast to sell for a good price, especially if you have lots of them.

I'd say the worst thing is jealousy.

But whats worse is when the "rich person" mistakes it as "jealousy" when its really just an adverse reaction to the terrible change in personality that can be attributed to his wealth. In other words, money in the hands of he who is not very wise or humble may result in a deformation of his character.

The moral is dont let the money make you arrogant or material.

BuckLover 10-26-2004 09:44 AM

There is no down side!!

Life is short, the world is fucked, your gonna die, so why spend your life working like a fucking dog! when you can have money and enjoy the finer things.

Who gives a flying mother fuck what others think or how jealous they are:2 cents: :2 cents: :2 cents:

Finding new pursuits to keep you going onto the next things and not just lying all day in your pool floating around daydreaming.

However, it is nice to just relax now and mess with my guitars more than I have in years past.....Also, started reading alot more and just enjoying the views out my windows.
