Opinions on new paysite please

I am new to this business and have been reading the various boards. Can I get you guy's and gal's honest opinion on my new paysite? It is not performing as I had hoped. It has been up for only 2.5 weeks but the number of signups should be higher than what i have. I tried the tgp route with a gallery on richards-realm..got about 8k uniques in three days but no signups. Thanks in advance and please be critical and honest!

I think that you should build a better set of tour pages. Entice the user in a logical progression so that by the time they get to the price page they are ready to whip out the credit card. Using fuzzy full sized pics and very small thumbnail pics in your tour will not bring you the results you are looking for.

Personally, I would also choose a different background color. There are many studies that have been done on the affect of colors on consumers and the color you have chosen does not evoke anything on a subliminal level for me (That is just a personal opinion).

Hit me up via icq or email if I can be of any help. Kandi is the graphic artist in my organization and perhaps we can offer you some tips or you could contract with us to do some work for you. We have a list of excellent references available upon request.

It may not be an impressive paysite but if heīs really a newbie his work isnīt that bad as you guys all say it is. The only way you other guys got big was by learning from your mistakes. I think this guy has started in the right direction and i think the site does have some potential! Intheblue why donīt you hit me up on icq and ill try and help you out a bit!

I would also concur with the advice you are receiving about "practicing" and "honing your skills" with a free site before attempting to open a paysite. When we first started with paysites, we already had many free sites, webmaster tools and avs sites on the market and this accomplished two things. First, we had a reputable name in the marketplace and second, you have honed your skillset and understand the psychology of what draws a customer in and what does not.

I suggest that you table your idea for a paysite momentarily, and build a few free sites that are profitable, then work your way up to avs sites.

Regards,

Those are some good good comments and thanks for taking the time. I do actually have a written business plan in place but I believe your comments saying that the 'image' is dragging it down. That will be my #1 project the rest of the week.

I will contact a few of you guys via ICQ after lunch.

As for going the free-site route, since I had the cash available I figured why not start with a paysite. But I am seriously considering a few small free sites now to complement this.

BTW, I had originally planned to have an external person/company design the website but I had a hell of a time finding one that would not want to fill it with Flash or Java, or make a front page that was just inundated with huge, hardcore graphics. I actually tried to mimick atkingdom's and karups clean professional design.

This seems to be a fairly common mistake. You really should be learning about this business, preferably with free sites, learning what works and what doesn't, then deciding which route to take.

Well, it's better than some, but worse than others...
1. It could use some graffix, like a logo, and custom buttons, etc...

2. The messaging could use some improvement, when building a paysite, you have to sell the surfer on why he should join your site, instead of going to one of the 3billion TGPs with tons of freeporn.

3. Ad a ton of content, feeds, videos, stories, etc... Or if you have that stuff you need to tell the surfer, remember they have no idea what's inside unless you tell them, from your tour now it looks like you have about 8 sets of pics. You might think about making it into a couple of AVS sites, if you don't have the bank to do so.

4. Go look at your compitition, it's likely the surfers getting to your site have seen other paysites and you have to ask why they would join mine over the others. Why would someone join Erotic Outdoors, when they can join AmateurPages or Drunkslut?

He has a good idea of what he wants, just needs some more content. I mean a person doesn't want to pay $25 a month just for a few pics when they can go to a TPG for free and get 10x the ammount.

Plus dont shove the "3 day membership" right in their face when they get into the preview section. Make them want to click through the preview to see what you really are made of before they pull out their credit card.

And yes new buttons would help

The best thing I can say, is just get more content

Good luck though

Excellent advice and well noted, especially about the 3 day signup. As for the content, there are currently about 4,500 pictures in there, guess I need to convey that better :P

Would love to add vid feeds but need to increase the return a bit first because that will be recurring costs, can't just stop offering them once I start.

As for the free or avs sites, I hate to say it but i just simply don't have the time/patience to wait a year to gain experience, etc. Further, it seems only logical that free and avs sites are better at driving traffic TO a main site, rather that being a source of income. To me, the initial financial investment is well worth the reduced time frame.

I am going to start over on talking to outside people/agencies to redesign the website from scratch and put some better marketing copy in there. Will message a few people that responded to my post and offered advice/services. Wish me luck! Thanks.

You're dealing with a very specific theme so there will be demand but you will also have problems finding enough content to keep those who are only partially interested in your theme to both sign-up and then recur. I'd spice up the tour a bit (but you are going in the right direction with it), get rid of the 3 day trial and lower the monthly membership to $9.99. Once you can sell that, develop a membership base, get some feedback on what else members would like to see and then provide more content to satisfy your members' needs, then you can think about upping the monthly price and possibly including a trial.

it took me almost a year before i really turned up major profits,,,this is usually the same way with other webmasters,,,
patience is like the most important part of the biz,,,sorry to say to say but this ain't no easy task,,,

you'll find out that paysites can be hell,,,i mean customer service can be a freakin nitemare,,,getting a surfer to sign up is only half the work,,,get rebills is the hardest part,,,4200 pictures is not nearly enough,,,one surfer can suck up all them pics in less than 2 days and cancel their account,,,,,

i suggest turning that site to a one of them precious metal AVS sites,,, and make alot of galleries on free host and make 100's of feeder sites pointing to the site,,,,,
it sounds real simple and it is,,but it just takes a real long time,,,Patience,,,

You've gotten some great advice...
I agree that you don't entice the surfer..you give it to him..he's already cum by the time he gets to your join, if he gets that far.

Don't be discouraged.
we opened a pay site first...and made 8.00 the first month. We then tweaked it and changed the words and the tour and practised with...while we made feeder sites to drive targeted traffic....keyword..target your traffic..submit it to search engines...as many as you can find....use the link lists...also...use anything you can to get your product seen by the people who are interested. Research your niche..use the "buzz" words designed to swell the "little head" so he'll open his wallet.

Surf the net. Look at other pay sites. Don't copy them....but look to see what they do and then create your own ideas.....

Find the words that excite your surfer to keep him clicking in to the join page....then, reiterate what you've got on the site to make him want to belong to your "club".
Make your site unique. Give it a special flavour that the member will only get from your site and no one else's. Make him feel like he belongs.

But, your site has only been up for a few days....that's it. Give it time. This is a business like any other. Sell your product. Target your audience.

I know people making 200,000-300,000$US/year only in promoting... and they would never start a paysite because it's a pain in the ass. Even big boys like maxcash are having difficulties with their 50 mega sites.
