I almost convinced I am a victim of shaving

The stats below reflect stats I sent to a single sponsor, to a single site. Tell me if this doesn't look funny.

Stats from Sept 1 - Sept 24
945 uniques sent, 7 sales $175 payout

Stat from Oct 1 - Oct 24
4216 uniques sent, 0 sales, $0 payout

(Had ratios been the same as from Sept 1 - Sept 24 the total payout for Oct 1 - Oct 24 would have been about $780, instead of $0)

*** Advetising methods stayed virtually the same during both time periods, as did primary traffic source (SE) ***

This is a less-promoted niche that has normally converted very well in the past, except I couldn't find a good PPS sponsor for it. When I do eventually did find a PPS sponsor with good payouts, initial tests were pretty good so I ended up switching most of my traffic for this niche to this sponsor's site.

I am contacting the sponsor in question to get their response.
Depending on the explanation I get, I may or may not say who

joined a new program, got 1/200 right off
the bat, so did several other webmasters
i know that were promoting them (hmm!)
and now NOTHING!!!!!

We use the 3rd party auditing from Click Truth to make sure that all traffic is tracked.. More people should step up and use something like this to prove they are paying their webmasters for every sale sent..

Am I the only one who thinks it odd that from one month to the next your traffic quadrupled....yet you claim its from the same source as the 1st pay period?

The same thing is happening to me right now with a very well known sponsor - month of September I did 1:140 for about 150 sales, First two weeks of October were consistent, second two weeks of October are at 1:2000 and worse.

Exact same source of filtered SE traffic at exactly the same levels.
