capturing/editing PAL format DV tapes
I just got a bunch of PAL format DV tapes in that need to be captured and edited. I have worked with PAL format tapes before using a Sony camera here, but its an NTSC camera and we have all sorts of problems. It wont capture in Adobe Premiere, only in Windows Movie Maker....and once we get the raw capture the quality loss is significant (lower frame rate) and its a pain in the ass to edit (wont work with my matrox editing suite).
My question is, if we get an actual PAL video camera (probably have to order it from Europe) will this solve the problem? I wont need to get new editing software too, correct? (Adobe Premiere has an option for opening PAL projects.) Any particular cameras you recommend? I will only be using it for capture so i dont need anything too top of the line. Any and all help is appreciated. |
