Interesting info: Printer/copiers do print a unique ID in every print

Was on the Dutch news, and also discussed by political parties.

Expensive/GOOD printers/copiers do print a 0.1 MM code in every print. In this code vendors/police can see where the machine is sold. So they can trace down easier buyers of this equipment, who are using it for creating Fake ID's, money etc.

Recetly a group a people were arrested because they were traced down by the code.

I first thought it was fake, but xerox/canon were on the news to and admitted it. Intersting idea :-)

You dont see a problem with them printing a code on every document ever created by your hardware which could be traced back to you?

They can and do have filters to fuck with currency printing which is just perfectly ok with me but altering documents you print crosses that line for me.

Well I can't see it(the code) so I don't see problem. And it's not with cheap stuff, only with advanced printing stuff. Dunno what models tho

Yes, it is correct.

My parents sold a photocopier that they used in their business about 5 years ago. A year later they were visited by the Australian Federal Police, as the machine had been used to conterfeit money, and they were still the owners on Xerox's database. The machine was an expensive one though, roughly $70,000 AUD ($50,000 USD) at the time.

Cheers

See I can see problems with things like that. What if you don't know the contact information for the people you sold it to anymore? What if you don't have proof you sold it? Will innocent people be blamed for crimes?

Well I'm sure they will look into your business, and they will see you spoke the truth...When you are a honest guy I don't see problems..

Man...

You people who have a problem with this are fucking idiots

More and more I'm of the belief that an idiot should not only - not have any rights, they shouldn't have a voice either.

EXACTLY WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU PRINT THAT WOULD MAKE THE POLICE KNOCK DOWN YOUR DOOR?

Even if they did, it's called an investigation - it's how bad people doing bad things are caught. With today's forensic technology, you don't think they couldn't ascertain your innocence after spending a few days analyzing your harddrive?

So pretty much, unless you keep your counterfeit money psd files, child porn or weekly cocaine sales and contacts on your computer - you're pretty much going to come out of it on the other end just fine.

Hey guys,

I got a MIRT and for those of you who don't know what it does then this is the jist of it.

The majority of traffic lights have a unit which is sitting on top of them, just a little box. What the box does is monitors the intersection for emergency vehicles and changes the lights so that they get priority/light changes green in the direction they're going.

What the unit i'm selling does is emit an infrared beam which has the same effect on the box sitting on top of the traffic lights as the emergency vehicles...

Imagine driving and having just about every light turn green in the direction your going!

Guess that pretty much explains why NotJoe has a problem with his actions being traced back to him.......

Sometimes the 'bad guys' get to decide who the 'bad guys' are...
