    License for vintage pics?

Hi, I'd like to open a site with vintage pictures, but I'm not sure what about a license. I mean 50's, 40's and older pictures. What does US law say about license for such old pics?

      Varion,

they are owned by someone. Just because they are old does not mean that noone owns the rights to them.

You always have to license them unless they officially went into public domain.

I know it, but how many years need a picture to go public domain?
