I just read it cover to cover

Great articles...
and very nicely put together.

Almost like a "Variety magazine" for Adult

I loved reading all the articles and am happy to be writing an article for an upcoming issue on celebrity sex tapes

I hope you all enjoy reading it once it's published...I know I am having a ball putting my journalistic skills to work again-

I DID major in Broadcast Journalism and it's nice to finally use some of that knowledge for our industry.

Bong Hitting was my minor.

Lykos 10-20-2004 01:56 PM

Well congrats on the new magazine, looks like a lot of work went into it, and it definitely has that professional look...

I know this really isn't the purpose of the thread, but I do have to agree with this comment:

"WTF is that?

Support increases for .XXX top level domain?"

Yes... what is that? And who decided that support increased? It will be VERY interesting to see how that headline is justified... I mean, I hope some serious research was done for that claim to be made. Most people I talk to agree that .XXX is a very dangerous idea and is NOT something this industry ought to support. I quote an attorney who said to an adult industry gathering, "If you people are dumb enough to think .XXX is a good idea then you deserve what you get." I certainly hope this headline is wrong...

Nice toilet entertaiment... :)
Count me in!

Instead of bashing, why not take the article in the manner that it's intended? Mathematically speaking, if 10 people thought it was a good idea and now 20 think it is, then support for it IS increasing.

And remember at the end of the day, selling magazines and getting subscriptions and advertisers does rely on getting people's attention.

Personally I see that .xxx is a blatant mistake to support, but then again that's why they make chocolate and vanilla ice creams ;)

"Instead of bashing, why not take the article in the manner that it's intended? Mathematically speaking, if 10 people thought it was a good idea and now 20 think it is, then support for it IS increasing."

Would that be fuzzy math? For example, how many people who used to support it now don't? These things need to be considered. Look, my point isn't to bash, and I have nothing but respect for the accomplishment that is this magazine's launch... my point is simply this: the .xxx domain name extension is a REALLY bad idea, and it would disturb me if people were accidently and falsely led to believe that it is somehow gaining support and therefore inevitable if, in fact, that isn't the case. If the statement is justified then it is what it is... but if not, well, then that's a problem. I'm wondering what was done to justify that headline, and I'm also hoping to raise some awareness of this issue (.xxx) in case the headline is indeed not justified. I'm sure there was nothing but good intentions on the part of Xbiz either way, but... is support really on the rise for .xxx? I sure hope not!

Those of you who have read the article... how is the headline backed up? I sure hope this was just one of those editorial slips.

"And remember at the end of the day, selling magazines and getting subscriptions and advertisers does rely on getting people's attention."

Um... that's frankly very poor logic, we'll just have to disagree there.

Stephen - How goes it? Yup, looking forward to a chat in Vegas. :) Congrats on the magazine, I suspect you are one of the many who have worked hard to make it a reality.
