There was no doubt they were going. I am a bit surprised how quickly and completely the sox choked this year however. maybe next year they should just skip it entirely.

Walmart fucking owns Kansas City's team. Steinbrenner is not even close to being the wealthiest owner. If the other owners don't want to put the best possible product on the field, too bad for them.

It's called The World Series because the first mtach-up between the National League and American League was sponsored by a newspaper called The World. Simple as that. Why wasn't the name dropped when the sponsorship ended? No idea.
