I'm waiting for them to get the 20D bodies in rather than the kits (the kit lens is acrylic and a pos) so I am still using a 10D.
The 24-70L is probably the best all round lens and the majority of my shots have been with it or the 70-200L. My four main lenses are those two, the 50mm 1.4 prime and the Sigma 12-24 wide angle. 24-70L http://www.pbase.com/shoplifter/image/30588507 http://www.pbase.com/shoplifter/image/31146518 12-24 http://www.pbase.com/shoplifter/image/29841773 70-200L http://www.pbase.com/shoplifter/image/31162498 http://www.pbase.com/shoplifter/image/30008198 The lens reviews at fredmiranda.com are a must see reference: http://www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/ The 10D is an amazing camera, I can't wait to get my hands on a 20D. |

The only downer is that they made the body smaller than the 10D. Good for women I guess.

would you recommenf the 70-200 as an all around lens? i want to take pictures of models, cars, both indoor and outdoor shooting. i know lens can be expensive and i don't want to carry around 3-4 lens so if i can get one or two really good lens that can handle photos on people, objects, indoor and outdoor that would be great.

Well, that is the case with the IS version I have used. Also a bit heavy, I would not want to "walk around"with that on my cam all the time because everywhere I go my camera goes. |

I don't know why so many people doing this type of photography (glamour, porn stills etc) like to use those those big heavy bodies. Canon has been releasing so many big clunky bodies which do have great features for people that neeed to film sports and other specialized things, but are also such huge heavy bricks to hold for say, filming naked girls. The lens and the light and composition is what matters most. Take a cheap, light, small body like the Digital Rebel and a good lens like the Canon Ultrasonic series 28-105 for example, and one can use it without getting fatigued and lugging a gigantic brick around. If it breaks, it's easy to replace too.

the 20d is fairly smaller than the 10d like Gynecologist mention. which is good if you don't want a huge cam like the Canon Mark series. my friend has the canon rebel and from what i can remember the 20d should be about the same size if not a tad bit bigger.
as for the lens i will definitely check out the 70-200 and the 28-105. if anyone else has any other suggestions let me know. i'll probably visit Wolf and Ritz camera next week and test out a few of there lens with the 20d |

Yep the 70 - 200 USM rocks with image stabilisator. Sharp like hell
And the 28 - 135 is also a MUST have For wide angle use Sigma objectives, they are doing very well

70 - 200 is not the perfect lens for every suitable shoot! For studio work you must have at least also a wide angle (I prefer at least a 17mm) The 70 -200 is great for outdoor, sport and so on but don't forget also he is pretty heavy, so get some training if you have to walk with it all day long.
