The New York Times "enthusiastically endorse" John Kerry for President

"Senator John Kerry goes toward the election with a base that is built more on opposition to George W. Bush than loyalty to his own candidacy. But over the last year we have come to know Mr. Kerry as more than just an alternative to the status quo. We like what we've seen. He has qualities that could be the basis for a great chief executive, not just a modest improvement on the incumbent.

We have been impressed with Mr. Kerry's wide knowledge and clear thinking - something that became more apparent once he was reined in by that two-minute debate light. He is blessedly willing to re-evaluate decisions when conditions change. And while Mr. Kerry's service in Vietnam was first over-promoted and then over-pilloried, his entire life has been devoted to public service, from the war to a series of elected offices. He strikes us, above all, as a man with a strong moral core."

I live in kerrys state. It's not pretty.. I have to get a permit to put a tent in the yard for my kid to play in. They're trying to make a law where you have to buckle dogs in cars or be fined.. it's all about milking money out of people in any fucking way imaginable. Lets face the reality of it all. I don't believe anyone can take their opinion totally out of anything they report if they have strong thoughts on it one way or the other. They can mask it, but usually you can see where they are comming from because they defend one side more than the other. It's a written opinion, in the "Opinions" section of the newspaper, hell it even has the word "opinion" right in the url. I don't see the author's name mentioned anywhere, and although I skimmed much of of the article I saw nowhere where it identified that opinion as being the official opinion of the newspaper itself.

its one thing to defend one side more then the other and another issue all togehter only presenting one side as the whole story. i understand its the reality of news today, but its still sad. this is why i usually dont buy quotes from news reports, because as you said, its usually someones opinion rather than fact.

Like I said, I didn't see an author's name anywhere, no one seemed to sign off on it at all other than the fact that it reads like an opinion and is in the opinions section.
