thats what i thought, but was mislead by momo, who also said they were hiding WMD in their news room.

Actually, I have an online account for the NYTimes, and they seem to position it under the Editor's opinion, not that of an outside party.

of course its an opinion piece but its still an official endorsement... its usually how a newspaper endorses a candidate, via the editorial.

Like I said, I didn't see an author's name anywhere, no one seemed to sign off on it at all other than the fact that it reads like an opinion and is in the opinions section.

I have no problem with Kerry per se, or the NYTimes for that matter. I have no ulterior motive for being on this thread other than the article looks to me like an opinion piece rather than an official declaration from the paper itself. That's all. I could be wrong, and if I am, big deal.

At least I got momo to relax.

News papers try extremely hard to seperate the opinions of outside sources from their own, and it would have been noted in the article before they got into the letter, and at the end, to remind people that the statements made in this article is not and should not be accepted as the position of NYTimes, and as far as the reason why they didn't sign off on it, only NYTimes knows.

Although NY times endorses kerry openly, there is no assurance that he will get the full support of everyone there. this is merely an opinion of one person and does not represent the majority.
