no it shows him appealing yet again to evangelicals and to the religious right.........he knows where his bread is buttered is all......and very sadly, it may help him eke out a win if enough of them go to the polls

The problem may be in he needs this to support him in governing and uses these "words" as some vote catching tool - real base!

I am not religious at all but that is a weak arguement. I think that quote was very reasonable of his to be honest. I think Bush would be good out of office, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with what he said regarding religion.

He was appealing to his CORE base. It's a ll a question of TURNOUT... whoever can turnout their BASE and get a majority of the undecideds...WINS. Simple as that.
