How valuable are doorway pages in this day and age?

    How valuable are doorway pages in this day and age?

    How important do you think it is to create doorway pages for each freesite I build?

    Should I take the time to do it? Or should I put that extra time into finding one more obsecure little linksite to submit to instead? Time is money...so is it worth the time? Or could that time be better spent somwhere else?

    What's your opinions ?

      I don't build doorway pages per se.

      What I do is to treat every single site/gallery page as a doorway into my site and construct it in accordance with SE optimizing techniques (good title, good body copy, etc). And usually I don't submit them but leave it to the spidering SE's to pick 'em up.

          Indeed, I think that the Gold Rush for search engine traffic is over... concentrate onto link exchanges and try submitting to local, small SE's.

              I used a service once that created the doorway pages for you, all you had to do is punch in the keywords.

              There was a script in the form that would build the text on everyone of the pages, that included the keywords. All you had to do was put "Keyword" inside brackets.

              But it was the first time I was using it, so I wrote.
              Thanks for coming to "BootyBone.com"
              We have pics of everything from "Keyword" to "Keyword". So dig deep, you may even find pics of "Keyword" or even "Keyword"

              What I didn't realize is that it didn't vary the keyword from page to page, it used the same keyword, to heavily target that one word. So what I got back was:

              I laughed pretty hard when I realized what I had done. I had to go back and redo it.

              I did 100 door way pages for bootybone.com, but I haven't submitted them to SE's yet. I hope that when I do they bring in some traffic.
