What's for you a worthy ROI?

5%? 10%? 20%? More?

When do you abandon a project if the ROI is too low? When is that threshold when you toss it into the trash?

well if its a self run product or service I dont really care as long as it brings in some sorta profit

If it involves more hands on day to day involvment, anything under 15% wont cut it for me.

I think there is a difference between ROI and profitability. Any company worth anything will make sure any capital investment will generate a preset ROI. It would be different for each project you would have to be a little more specific.

Your second point I see as a profitability issue when a project isn?t giving you the margins you need either rework it or as you say toss it into the trash. Just my

It's a tough question there are many variables. There is your time, advertising, server costs, you have to take everything into mind. I would say as long as all that is covered and I get a %15 bump i'd be happy...

IMHO the percentage doesn't really matter... I rather have a 20% ROI on 10 million than a 50% ROI on $50K

exactly. also another observation... the more the amount of cash involved, the lower the % of ROI (but still translates to big money).

As has been said it depends completely on the turnover. On low volume stuff I usually want at least 100% preferably higher. On bigger volume stuff (by volume I mean turnover($)) just a few % is fine if the product is fairly risk free.
