![]() I preformed a search and have not found this yet.
just receive the following email: Since April 2004 VISA and MasterCard International require additional transparency so that our merchants can be more easily identified. End-users need to know with whom they are dealing when they are using their credit card on the Internet. This change is good for both your business and our business, since it will reduce the number of chargebacks and complaints from customers. Larger merchants now need to show their company name on the descriptor portion of the credit card statements. This is currently packaged as the Verotel Pro account. Verotel Pro accounts are ideal for merchants that process higher volume (e.g., more than USD 1,000 a week), and for merchants that want to obtain a discount on their charges and take advantage of Verotel's escrow-account system. Furthermore, Verotel Pro merchants will have their own descriptor on the credit card statement of the end-user. The descriptor will start with 'VTL' followed by the company name. The telephone number on the credit card statement remains one of our 1-800 (toll-free) numbers and Verotel will continue to handle your end-user support. The registration fee of each Verotel Pro account is USD 1,500 as a one-time fee and USD 260.00 as a yearly fee. The yearly fee will be deducted in 52 weekly payments of USD 5.00 per week. Currently, October 2004, it appears that more and more online Internet merchants find their principal place of business outside of the United States. All these new merchants need security and compliance verification with Verotel's European acquiring banking relationships. They are verified on their local registration papers, their website domain name(s), and their website content. Due to the high number of new merchants, the acquiring banks are unable to process new applications in a timely manner, as they did before. Therefore, the processing time of Verotel Pro applications is extended from 21 days to at least 90 days. We regret this situation and we hope that early 2005 the Verotel Pro registration process will go faster than currently. ![]()

This is not exactly new info. They did say during the initial registration process several months back that merchants applying after that period, or Ticketsclub merchants wanting to move to Verotel Pro would have to pay $1500.
