The moose doesnt look as tasty as cow.

Hey Man Nice Shot !!

Evan it's called clear coat. Just because you've been living out of a trailer all your life doesn't mean that the cabin looks fake.

It's very real.

As for the retards who call hunters fuckheads, think about it twice when you start complaining about the environment's destruction. Face it what do most tree huggers know about nature anyway, they've been living all their lives in the cozy downtown, drinking grande lattes and eating tofu, going for the occasional stroll in the park to smoke some weed.

Hunters are probably the truest form of ecologists out there.

My dad is a butcher thats what it looks like in a super market as well big cattle carcass's hanging up in a freezer befor they are cut into steaks and stuff

I really dont care for meat in its original form IE a steak or ribs or a roast I prefer it to not look like it does when it hangs there so I like it after its turned into burgers or sausage and stuff

My Fiancee ( Platinum Ellisa for those of you that dont know) went with me this weekend to my dads butcher shop they had about 11 deer haning in a freezer skinned and ready to be cut up she was in total shock and she said she now knows why I eat meat the way I do and why I dont like certain things :)

Tanker 10-12-2004 07:36 AM

now on another note my grandfather has 165 Acres in the ozarks and asked me If I wanted to hunt it this year lots of deer

anyone out near southern missouri that wants to go hunting in November ?

I?m not for the mistreatment of animals whatsoever, I have never been hunting and will most likely never go, I couldn?t bring myself to killing an animal in cold blood? Anyone who bashes a hunter and will go eat meat is a hypocrite in my opinion!

I have nothing against those who hunt and eat what they kill. With all the shit they add to meat it?s probably a lot better to kill it yourself!

C_U_Next_Tuesday 10-12-2004 08:57 AM

moose meat tastes really bad.. I love wild game..but that is the most god awful shit. ..greasy too. I told hubby to not even bother shooting one of those.. he would have his gun stuck up his ass.....bring me elk/deer/caribou..leave the shitty meat to those that have the time to prepare that shit.

congrats on the kill though

You've got to be kidding me. What a fucking retard.

I don't see how people can hunt for the fun of it...

I know of one city that actually hires snipers every year to help take out some of the deer running around. The meat isn't wasted either, they donate it to the homeless shelters.

Any hunter that wastes their meat is crazy. Even if they don't care for the meat, they can easily sell it for top dollar. I LOVE venison, elk is a little too gamey for my taste though.

Agreed. We are having a REAL problem with overpopulation here even with increased kills amounts.

One of the most obvious I'm seeing is mutated deer which I've been told is due to inbreeding due to the massive population. :(

You must not have lived anywhere near deer. They can easily jump a fence. And I can just see the complaints when you want to fence everything in (or out), lol!

Those that whine about hunters need to shut the fuck up. You dont see the whole picture, nor could you fathom an over populated country run amuck with these huge animals eating all the crops and causeing major damage to homes and property and taking lives. You fuckers need to hit a elk at 70 going down the highway..then maybe you will see that most hunters really save lives instead of just taking them.

save a homeless child..its a much better cause!

BUT...

As far as supermarkets go - most supermarkets stock 95% processed poison one way another. Genetically manipulated vegetables, inhumanely mass produced meat that is loaded down with hormones, antibiotics and who knows what else.

Do you really think eating garbage from supermarkets is better for you, animals, or the environment than sitting out in a cabin in the middle of the forest and living off the land?

And I'm pretty sure if they had the choice, your primitive ancestors would have selected a rifle over a sharp stick.

But then again, maybe your ancestors weren't that bright :glugglug

Seriously though, any realist, founded facts against hunting?

Except idiocies like "you don't need to hunt you just go to the market" or "Tofu is just as delicious"
What do you anti-hunting hippies have to say?

Basic_man 10-12-2004 11:10 AM

Wow! Nice kills!

Dildozer 10-12-2004 03:47 PM

Just as I thought, you dirty smelly hippies have nothing over hunters.

We are better than you.

martyVP 10-12-2004 06:16 PM

Thats really nice!

You get to enjoy this beautiful world and the Moose no longer don't.

What satisfaction does it give to one to end an animals life??

Holy shit! and you even had time to take a pic before you shot 'em?

WELL DONE!

My hubby would be so jealous. He went on his annual hunting trip over the weekend and got squat.

But the week before (he goes every sunday during hunting season) he managed to get a bear and a buck....no moose though....we haven't had moose in our freezer for 2 years now...sigh...

As for the hippy bashing....hey, I love animals (not that way you turd)....but know what? I'd MUCH rather eat game than any of that crap in the grocery store....all pumped up with steroids and anti-biotics and who knows what else.....

at least I know what deer, moose, bear etc have been eating....

Just a thought....

Screaming 10-12-2004 06:28 PM

chaze and martyVIP, if you eat any meat and slam me, you're filthy hypocrites.

If you're vegetarians, that's your choice and i respect it, however it is the order of things.

If you're vegans, you're fucking nuts, get the fuck out of my thread.

If you're just offended some poor defenseless creature got killed, next time look into your plate. Chances are each time you eat meat another creature has died a much worst death.

Dildozer 10-12-2004 06:38 PM

Gigi, what you see there is a female moose. She was with her young.

We don't shoot females nor the young (though we're allowed to for the young). Just adult males.

chaze 10-12-2004 06:40 PM

We don't need to eat meat we do becuase society raised us to.

What animals ruled the world and could eat something other then us but stilled killed us one by one for the fun of it?

Animals have every feeling we do.

pornguy 10-12-2004 06:52 PM

Let me guess. You sat in a tree for a few hours with some kind of bait and waited for them to walk within rifle shot.

WOW. what a hunter.

Want to impress people with your hunting skills, take a bowie knife and give it a try.

And dont bait them. There is a reason they call it hunting.

sheldonjuan 10-12-2004 06:56 PM

you should make sure to wear bright colours, would be unfortunate if one of your buddies popped you in the ass when you are sneaking around in the bush....

Drake 10-12-2004 07:11 PM

Why is this argument still raging on?

I've never hunted. I don't understand the mentality of killing animals for sport, but there is nothing wrong with it, if the hunter is going to eat the meat and cause as little suffering as possible.

There is no humane way to kill animals. Every slab of beef or chicken you've ever eaten came from a slaugherhouse. That slab of beef or chicken lived a horrific life caged up. What difference does it make if a hunter shoots what he eats, and you don't but you get served a piece of beef from a cow that had it's throat slit open and dunked in boiling water while it was alive?

Easton, I gotta respond to your point. There is a difference between being horrified at video of a LIVE human having his head cut off and a DEAD moose having it's intestines removed.

1) One is human, the other is animal (there is a hierarchy of life whether we want to admit it or not. Humans are not the same as other animals in all respects)
2) One is alive having it's head severed, the other is a dead animal that no longer feels pain that's having it's guts removed because it is not edible
3) One is done for political reasons and shock value, the other is for "sport" and to eat the meat.

Anybody who eats meat cannot argue against responsible hunting. Hunting for sheer enjoyment and leaving dead animals all over the place is not right, but hunting to enjoy meat is fine. Have you ever gone fishing? Fishing is just another form of hunting. The fish doesn't enjoy being hooked, taken out of the water where it can't breathe, and then have it's head cut off for the BBQ.

Death is ugly, but eating meat is natural. Function equals form. If we weren't supposed to eat meat, our bodies wouldn't tolerate it the way herbivores are unable to digest meat. It's unfortunate that we must kill to eat meat. Responsible hunting goes beyond just killing the animal. It involves eating it. This is not the same as idiots who would kill animalsand leave the carcasses to rot.

With a bowie knife. Wow you're really not too bright are you? the point is to NOT make the animal suffer long. Not stab it, get trampled and then have it die 3 days ago because it's crippled.
Idiot, go back to Starbucks, wilderness isn't for you.

Chaze, of course i guess humans just began eating meat because we found it tasty back in the 60s while you hippies were too busy doing acid.

We're omnivores and quite frankly i'd rather not exclude meat from my diet, i'd lack vitamin B12 for one thing.

It's not just being raised to eat meat. There is a biological basis for eating meat. It's what seperates herbivores from omnivores from carnivores.

Drake 10-12-2004 07:19 PM

Meat provides what humans need to be healthy. It's the pre-eminent source of protein and all kinds of other wonderful things for the body.

Drake 10-12-2004 07:22 PM

Btw, I was raised in a family that opposed hunting. But for goodness sake, I never heard arguments that were sufficient for me to hold the same view. We ate meat. Beef, chicken, and fish. So what if Joe Blow wants to kill his own food, while we have the beef Company do it for us. The result is the same. A dead animal that had to die for us to eat its meat.
