Vacation to Cuba and Internet Access???
Does anyone know the best way to connect to the internet while on vacation in Cuba assuming that the Hotel has no internet connection? I found a place in US that offers toll free 800 # but I don't know if 800 numbers are free or even accessible from Cuba. I would realy appreciate if someone could give me some info on paid or free internet service that will work from there.
Thanks [This message has been edited by Sins-Z (edited 08-15-2001).] |

The two biggest hotels in Habana, "Nacional" and "Cuba Libre" offer internet access for foreigners for about $5 per 30 minutes at business hours. Enter the lobby of one of those and go upstairs to the "business" or "communication" rooms.

You won't be able to connect to an ISP outside from there, and even if you technically could, you shouldn't if you aren't looking for trouble.

Thanks you all but I'm not staying in Havana but in Holguin "Breezes Costa Verde" instead, and I would use my own laptop and not their computers

Unless something has changed in the past few years, I do not believe you can use them.
This may have changed. If you still can't find out - I would recommend calling someone from: http://usembassy.state.gov/posts/cu1/wwwhmain.html I have done this before for simple questions about other countries and usually they are happy to help. |
