The way I think it should be:

first 5 pics lead to thumbs(can be on html pages)

Other pics should be non clickable but can have a small textlink below them saying something like join or so.


All hosts should be accepted provided they do not use pop ups on the pages that is IMHO unacceptable.

Moviepreviews should be ok to(have to ponder on the rules for them still though )

I think that if we can create a chain of this type of TGP's it can catch on specialy if we circle the traffic around.

My TGP isn't ready yet but I would be interested in trading traffic and listing these types of galleries, although I'm not sure I would want to "go all the way", as you put it, and list ONLY these galleries... I think there has to be some old-school galleries as well in order to keep surfers coming back, especially for a new site like mine where I need to be able to build up traffic.

1)for tgp owners
2)for tgp submitters
3) For making money for both of the above

But not for surfers they have a sweet deal at the moment
If enough TGP's get on board then cool and if they have their own traffic source and trade with themselves fine
But traditional TGPs would be surfer choice and bookmark favorite every time.
So keep it close amongst 2nd generation trader and tell other big TGPs about how much money wer'e making and hopefully more will join in time

I think you are right, they are going to type in the name of the picture to try to get it. As a surfer I did it all the time and there are web boards that tell people to do just that. Surfers already play with urls anyways and hit 404's.

Just like selling AVS memberships, don't give them any hardcore or alot nudity and make them pay for it. I like it!
If you did do random images, maybe putting a border around them like some content sellers do so that the surfers know which ones they can click, it may keep them interested.

Actually, I think we should allow hardcore galleries, it doesn't make that much of a difference, since they won't be linked to bigger JPEG's. Plus, link only the teasers, let the revealing ones stay unlinked.

I think I'm with you guys on the rules and my TGP is almost done, so count me in. As for the bigger guys, I'm pretty sure very few of'em will join at start, especially since they're so strung-up on their precious reputations.

Oh, and one more thing. We need to set up a page where we will list galleries, by category, I'm sure some of us will have a hard time getting submissions (such as myself, running a new TGP). I don't really know how to do this, but I'm pretty sure we can work something out, hit me up on ICQ or e-mail (check my profile) me and we'll work on it together.

Another thing I was considering is a link list to accompany the TGP I'm setting up, any of you have any thoughts on converting link sites to the same model? wolfshade, if I'm not mistaken you run a linklist too, alongside your TGP, what's your thought on it?

Maybe, maybe not. It will take a while for the submitters to catch up with it too, many of them are loyal TGP posters, posting and getting accepted on many of the big hitters. On the other hand, best advertising is word of mouth, so if our submitters will be happy with the results, I think the others will catch on eventually.

I don't like exclueding free sites, To me it makes more since to inclued them. This way it will knock a lot 20 to 30 free picture galleries down. If you don't inclued free hosted sites then they will keep posting the same surfer free loading type of galleries. If you inclued them then they will play along and post these new types of galleries and hopefully stop posting 20 or 30 pics type.
Once it gets going and catchs on it will help rid the web of a hell of a lot of free porn.

Everyone has been discussing the glut of free porn, dropping ratios and slimmer checks for quite awhile and finally some are willing to step up and actually do something about it.
As so far as the majors, I don't think this idea needs them right away. There are some webmaster friendly link sites and TGPs that Iam sure would love to trade traffic into something like this, if it was to become a real network of sites. (Netpond and Voltar's newbie boards are home of alot of them.) They have been doing something like this on a smaller scale for awhile.
I can see this being tried by someone like the Hun, maybe not off his main page, but like thumbs up is. Iam sure the majors would like to see things come back to this because I'm sure they made money there too =)
