Is the LUXOR HOTEL in Vegas that Bad?

Hey fuckers..

Ive never stayed at or been to a room in the Luxor.. ANyone here been there? In the actual rooms that is.

Is it any good? How does it compare. I was looking at staying there at a Jacuzzi Suite or 1 Bedroom Suite since its so close to the Internext show. ITs between that or the Beligio Hotel..

Also came real close to getting a standard room at 4 seasons. I know that place is nice and been there before, same with Beligio..

Its just Im finding some great vacation package rates for the top of the line rooms at the luxor (these rooms look great in the pics especially the jacuzzi room for photoshoots) but ive never been there so thought Id ask..

I would stay at the bellagio if I were you. You will get better service and they even have a nice poker room!

Truthfully I just want something close. The traveling back and forth sounds horrible. But its my wife thats bitching about wanting to staying at the Beligio. Its her favorite place.. But its gunna be a pain in the ass Vallet parking, cabbing, and limo riding back and forth.

Im looking at the 4 seasons now and they have rooms for 350.00 per night.. But the standard room is just that.. Standard.. Kinda want a bigger nicer room..

Mandlay Bay is out.. So its between the 4 seasons forking over for a basic room, the Luxor top of the line room and very close walking distance to the show, or the Belligio nice place, great place to stay in Vegas but not great for internext location.

Still not sure what the fuck. But the wife also hates the whole Mandlay Bay area. Nothing there. No shopping, no good resturants, nothin.. So most likely Im gunna be at the Belligio...

I've stayed at the Luxor before and I found it to be my favorite of the theme hotels. Maybe I just like crooked elevators and slanted windows, I don't know.

Ive been there once. I didn't stay but I was in their cheapest room and it was very nice. The bed was comfortable and it had this neat eygiptian theme. If you stay at the Bellagio, Your going to regret it every time you have to take a taxi. And besides that the Bellagio is overpriced.

Beleve it or not, the Belligio is cheaper than mandlay bay and 4 seasons this trip... A lot cheaper.. (i get a premium casino rate at MGM properties and Belligio is a MGM property)

Its just a bit more cost wise for me than the Luxor..

yeah..

Looks cool from the outside and is right next door to the internext hotel..

But its not exactly the aura of higest of class in terms of gaming and shopping and dining as with the Venetian and Belligio..

The Luxor is great! The way the inside slants in as it goes up is awesome, and makes for a fun view down into the hotel.

Plus they have INCLINATORS instead of elevators, because of the slant!

i have stayed in the jacuzzi suite at the luxor a few times, nice room, luxor has a good food court for late night eats

there is also a walk way there now to the MB, they always had the tram, but the walkway is faster in my opinion

There is a monorail that runs from Bellagio to Monte Carlo, but I'm not sure of it's status right now. Might call Bellagio and ask.

Monte Carlo is next to NYNY, which is across the street from the corner of Tropicana and LV Blvd. You can catch a monorail there to Mandalay Bay and save yourself cab fare. Easy walk, just a block and through Bellagio and Mandalaly Bay.

I haven't stayed at Luxor but I've done the "press tour" a couple times and have played and ate there a few times. It's not my favorite place to play. I have terrible luck with gambling there and the employees always seem grouchy to me. I always end up with a server who feels like I'm ruining their day by being there making them do their jobs.

I'd stay at Bellagio and make the wife happy if the monorail is working.

yeah mandalay is real expensive, and i agree that its not the best hotel in vegas. i'm still pissed off that its beeing held there, i think thats a huge mistake.

anyway, we're staying there because of the convenience

Would that be the new monorail that was delayed forever and was shutdown because pieces started falling off? Unless they opened it up again real recently it's still closed afaik but will hopefully be back up by January.

I rode it once in the couple weeks it was actually open. It's cool for something different and beats walking/cabs but is overpriced and slow. You do get a great view of the ghetto apartments around the strip though.

When I called them for the Internext, that was about 2 weeks ago, they told me of $169 per night.

I stayed once at the Luxur a couple of years ago. It was good

for the price we payed. Not the same class as Mandalay or

Belagio, but still a nice place to stay.

Thats why you cant get rooms, and the ones you can get are so expensive. Any other time in january this town is almost deserted as far as tourism is concerned.
