SE listings does a - matter?

Hey guys i am just now learning SE"s a lil bit
i have the domain lilwyte.net
i got shit for google listings but i got some listings for yahoo

like if you search for " lil wyte " in yahoo my shit aint near the first page

but if you search "lilwyte" im on the first page - twice.

I was wondering what the fuck I am doing wrong - the spaced version of the se phrase im not near the top but the non spaced version ... i am :/

Another helpful reply from Basic. Jesus christ.

Chris- some say the dashes hurt listings... I don't know if it is rumour or not but I still see tons of sites with dashes in them at the top of the rankings.

For the most part, dashes are better for multi work domains.

I was speaking to a SE guru this week, he was saying that the SE spiders are getting more andf more sophisticated and that in our profession the time spent to keep your site at the top is not worth it.

Much better you concentrate on the other means of getting traffic.

I think what he was saying was, spend all day on SEO and you get 1000 hits, which 20 will sign up. Buy a spot on the Hun, work on your site and sign up 30.

Time is money.
