on fame...
seeing that im a (up and coming) record producer and deal with people who want to be famous all the time, and the business of fame itself, I can say confidently that there are certain x factors in the whole equation that have no explanation, you can't plan for or try to make happen they just exist and dictate how things work sometimes.
all you can do basically is make sure your talent level is always well above average and "luck" is a combination of things that you ultimately have something to do with. if you put yourself in the right company with the right people and give yourself a shot to be noticed then luck may come your way.
models, some of them just have a specific look that really catches on, or maybe they met the right person at the right opportunity. a lot of times its all about 1 + 1, if you're hungry but there's no food store you're outta luck, conversely if you're a food store and everyone's full you're out of luck. you need to be able to fill a void for a demand, and those windows of opportunity are hard to come by.
fame, for the most part, is a money driven concept. people with loads of money spend it on putting your face/likeness on tv/print/cd in hopes to profit off it. if you were rich but had no talent you could still be famous simply by buying yourself visibility.
on tiger woods and his wife...
i agree with some of the other people, you can't say for sure they're not in love. i think everyone's jealous and rightfully so. let's face it who wouldn't marry that chick, even if it was all about status. but we don't know them well enough to assume things about their personal life.
