    Bill imposes hefty 'spyware' fines

    Companies and others that secretly install "spyware" programs on people's computers to quietly monitor their Internet activities would face hefty federal fines under a bill the House passed Tuesday

        God save the newbies.

        Everytime I use a friends computer they must have 20+ spyware TSR's running. This will be nice for the casual computer user so there computer isn't brought to an inudated state of spyware.

          About fucking time. I got some shit on my computer that shut down a bunch of programs including cute ftp and musicmatch - because they both runs ads.

              i say there's nothing wrong with just a dynamic toolbar.. some people go fucking crazy with spyware and get malicious as fuck, gives the rest of us a bad name
